St. Pete Beach Rehearsal Dinner

Debra, on November 28, 2017 at 9:01 AM Posted in Florida Planning 1 15

Hi all! Anyone know of a great (relatively cheap!) place for a rehearsal dinner in St. Pete Beach? We are good with casual and don't want to spend a ton of money. Our guests will be more anxious to enjoy their beach vacation so it doesn't have to be something fancy. We are getting married at Sirata. Thanks!

I did, it is just a little pricer than we were looking for but it might just be our best option. Paying for the wedding ourselves so we are trying to save where we can. Looks like this is not one of those places lol

Yeah that's why I passed on them too. I am getting married right down the street at the Post Card Inn and they were pricey too. We decided to just do something at our house for the rehearsal dinner. We are using Tijuana flats catering, filling a cooler with beer and getting a few bottles of wine. It's going to be about $400 for 20-25 people which is much cheaper then anything I found.

Post card inn was our runner up! We were so torn between the two for so long, your wedding is going to be beautiful! We loved the tiki hut there.

We live up in Gainesville so the backyard thing is not possible, but that is exactly what we were looking for! Something cheap and low-key. I am going to have to keep looking!

Both of the venues are so beautiful and now I cant wait for your BAM.

Try looking into renting a space from the City of St. Pete Beach or maybe look at a conference room in a hotel. If you don't mind not being on St. Pete Beach there are a ton of breweries in downtown St. Pete that you can rent space and bring in your own food. My FSIL just had her baby shower at 3 daughters brewery and it was $100 for the space and then it was catered by carrabbas.

Ohhhh we love breweries. That sounds awesome!

@Daniella we looked at grand plaza for the rehearsal dinner and it is pricey for sure! We didn't want to spend the minimum either

Most places on St. Pete beach are going to be on the pricier side since you are eating on the beach. How casual are you looking to go? There are a few sports bar, or pub type places that might be more in budget.

I would recommend going into downtown St Pete or even over in Johns pass which is still on the water, but on the intercoastal water side.

Definetly second downtown st pete. There are so many great places down there. Red Mesa Cantina, the canopy, Bella Brava, 400 Beach, and Cassis just to name a few

We did my brother and SIL's at Crabby Bill's (in 2012) - it was really great - and they blocked off part of the restaurant for us (and gave us dedicated servers)

So I did some searching and we found Mastry's brewing right down the road from Sirata. They have been awesome with getting back to me and basically will charge me for the drinks for everyone (so drink tickets but for the rehearsal, it will be fine...most will not drink more than one - unlike the receptions where the open bar is very necessary lol). She said they could hire a food truck for the night (no charge to us because it would be availble to other guests) and we would get priority on the food. I know it sounds a little lame but breweries and food trucks are so us (see engagement picture to the left haha). I may be able to salvage a rehearsal dinner after all!

P.S. I contacted a beach bar in St. Pete and the response I got back was "by the way, our minimum spending during the summer is around 10k" 10k for a rehearsal dinner????

Thanks for sharing! I'm going to be having this same problem in a few months (though thankfully not during the summer... yeesh) and I will definitely check that place out.

We are having our rehearsal dinner at the Island Grille on Tierra Verde, but also second all the downtown St. Pete options!

I saw your post about a rehearsal place for your wedding. Where did you end up going? We are getting married at Sirata also.
