Hello everyone . I was talking to my sister about having the wedding party stand during the ceremony since I would like to have an outdoor ceremony. I Have never been to an outdoor ceremony but I do not believe that i have seen bridesmaids and groomsmen seated during outdoor ceremonies in pictures. Help! Suggestions?

If the ceremony is more than 10 minutes long, I'd offer the BP seats. Especially if the weather is warm, or your gals are in heels.

I've never been to a wedding where the wedding party was seated. How long are you planning your ceremony to last? What will the temperature be?

I've only ever seen bridal parties sit when it's part of a mass, but as PP have mentioned, if the ceremony is short, maybe 20-25min max, your BP should be fine.

I wouldn't worry about it unless your ceremony is really really long, I've never seen the WP sit either. We are offering a chair to one groomsman who has chronic pain issues, he says he'll see how he feels day of and let us know.

Wedding party usually stands for the whole ceremony, I don’t think I’ve ever been to a wedding where they were seated. Our ceremony was outside & our WP stood with us the whole time, it was 30 min including pro/recessional. It doesn’t have to be 10 minutes or less for them to stand.

Yeah, I've also never heard of a seated wedding party. Indoor or outdoor. Unless your ceremony will be crazy long (over an hour) they can stand alongside you. I also had an outdoor ceremony. Total of 20 minutes, the entire wedding party stood.

The only weddings ive been to that the BP sits down at are Catholic Weddings. My nephew and his wife had an outdoor wedding at a vineyard and their BP stood through the whole ceremony and it was more than 10mins long
