Star Wars Save the Date!

Mckayla, on January 30, 2017 at 3:07 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 31

I was playing around on Zazzle last week and I decided to try making a Save the Date magnet just for fun. I ordered one because I wanted to see what it looked like in person. I'll probably change a few small things if this is the one we choose later, but overall I'm pretty happy with it. I get really excited any time I do wedding stuff and wanted to share!

Oh good! I was terrified that everybody would be saying, "I don't get it. What's the pew pew mean?" Thank you!lol

My fiancé would die and go to heaven if I had let him do this. Looks great!

Sass - Not yet. Planning on a lightsaber cake cutting set, Princess and Scoundrel drinkware, I Love You I Know cake topper, helmet centerpieces, and a lightsaber exit. It sounds like a lot, but it's all smaller stuff so it shouldn't be overwhelming.

It's cute. I love Star Wars.

Though, you know...with the major relationship in the series ending horribly, it's a bit ironic, almost like a Gatsby wedding hehe. (Unless you choose to ignore that part, which I am totally on board with....see my avatar, as far as I am concerned the revival didn't happen! )

And, while I "get" the pews, that's the main joke in gamers about archer characters so personally I don't really get it in this context.

The fact that your wedding is May 4th, you're considering Star Wars STDs, you're out of WV, and you made the STDs magnets with "Pew Pew" on them is making my inner SW nerd so so so happy Smiley smile

I'm glad everyone is liking them so far! Thank you!

Heaven - You're the first person I've found here from WV! I'm sure others are as well, but you're the only one I've noticed so far.

Renee - I love yours! We considered doing a comic theme because FH is a comic artist, but went with Star Wars because it's something that we both love and both of our families will also enjoy.

Obviously I am also having a Star Wars wedding. The Han and Leia story isn't my story BUT I fully support it. There is a lot of speculation about Han and Leia in the extended universe. When TFA came out we were all like, what?

@AMW I dunno, in my gaming reality we say "pew pew" whenever we have to do major dps. Even in SWTOR while I'm playing marauder and I only wield lightsabers.

This design is cute but there are many, many out there. Check out Etsy for some more designs if you're questioning this one. I used https://www.etsy.com/shop/TheeAshleyDee for my invitation suite and was not disappointed.

TimeLady - Thank you for the suggestion! I'll take a look, but I think I've already checked out that shop. We did find this set on Etsy at ladybonesprint and we love them.

Those are neat! This is what we went with. We made some changes, though. Like, we swapped out the rebel alliance symbol for the sith empire one. There was some wording that was tweaked to make it more formal. (As formal as a Star Wars invitation can be.) Then we changed the lightsaber colors as well.

Have you purchased your wedding shoes yet? I bought this sweet pair from an Etsy shop. Here is the stock photo for you.

So many wonderful Star Wars things!

They are adorable! I get the "pew pews" but would rather see the emphasis on the date, since that is the most important part of the save the date. The Whos and the When should be more prominent.

@TimeLady - Those shoes are amazing!
