My husband and I, being the nerds that we are, are getting married on Star Wars Day 2018, May 4th. We are planning to have a Star Wars/Harry Potter themed wedding, to celebrate both of our favorite fandoms. I'm just looking for any and all ideas one might have for fun things to have at the wedding to go with our theme. Our colors are actually dark green and neutrals. So far I've contacted our local 501st Legion to (hopefully) have some members come in full Stormtrooper outfits, I have our Save the Dates and Invitations picked out (see below), and I found an awesome poster for our guest book (see below). Let me know what ideas you have!

We cannot have open flames either. We are doing lightsabers for our centerpieces in tall cylinder vases with flowers out of the top. The sabers light up and change color.

Definitely check Pinterest for ideas! They have a bunch of Star Wars and Harry Potter themed wedding ideas! You can always incorporate little details from each as well! I attached a picture of Star Wars cufflinks your FH can wear! Or incorporate your themes in your placecards (symbols of each house - gryffindor, ravenclaw, slytherin, hufflepuff), a birdcage-like card box (similar to owl cage in Harry Potter) or even a sign at the gift table saying you will "sort them out later" with an image of a sorting hat Smiley smile I think even if you incorporated a lot of candles that could give off a Harry Potter feel yet still work with a Star Wars theme. You could use the Star Wars theme for table numbers. With the table number have an image of Yoda or Darth Vader, etc. your wedding sounds like it'll be amazing!!

ETA: just read that you can't have open flames. You can use candles with the switch if you can't have open flames Smiley smile

We're not doing a theme, but I had to sneak in a detail or two!

I'm a huge fan but trying to be subtle about it so I made these for the back of our chairs

& I had a fun idea for signature drink names that im not able to use because of the beer, wine, champagne only rule at my venue Smiley sad(

Amortentia - the love potion & Felix Felicis - liquid luck

I also plan to have either a lightening bolt charm or deathly hallows charm on my bouquet

ETA: also, I am making table 9 table 9 3/4

We tried to be subtle and sneak in some HP things into our wedding... then my dad went all out and designed us a can coozies as a surprise. I did not want coozies, or even favors in general, but he was so proud of them!
