Start to plan

I’m getting married in 2023. For the people who has gotten married, when do you think I should start planning?

I have already started. Just don’t know if it’s too early

I would start by planning your budget and guest list. The only problem with the guest list is that it could change over time since you still have so much time before your wedding. However budget and guest list are the first two things you will want to figure out then you can look for a venue. Your budget and guest list will greatly impact what venue you select hence why I recommend doing those things first. After you have researched venues you can certainly reach out to them to see if it they are booking so far in advance. They might not be. If they aren't then there isn't much you can do planning wise because until you have a secured a venue you don't really have a date.

Personally, it’s never too early to start planning. I use The Knot’s planning checklist & I love it. Keeps me on track!

2023 bride here! We have had our venue booked for 6 months now! I was afraid it was too early to start planning too, but we live in a heavily populated city area, and with COVID, our venues are just overflowing. A few of our venues were completely booked up for every weekend in 2022 when we looked which was insane to me!! So I definitely don’t think it’s too early to start planning if you know what you want but I agree with above definitely start with a rough guest list and then look at venues!

I agree with Michelle - now would be a great time to start planning. I also use the checklist on The Knot, and it's been super helpful!

For now I would definitely draft a guest list, work on budgeting, and book a venue. This will give you time to pay off your venue which will be a huge relief. Then you can do good research on vendors you'd like. Great thing is you have time to SAVE UP. Happy planning! It's so much fun 🥰

It is not too early to start planning some things. You can go ahead and set a budget and start making your guest list. Researching vendors is a good thing to get started on. I probably wouldn't start setting appointments to tour venues and meet with vendors until around the year and half mark.

Start searching for a venue. Which means you need to set your priorities to focus on first, the budget and guest list before you can look. Browse eventective.com for venue ideas.

I would start planning your budget, guest list, and definitely your venue!! A lot of people’s weddings have been pushed back due to COVID causing availability issues at venues. So definitely check some places out now.

That makes me feel so happy, I want to book my venue soon as it's a popular venue. I'm hoping october 2023 to get married. I still have people telling me its way too early and things change. I've wanted this venue for 2 years!
