Stationary and Florals

Outside of my bouquet and his boutonnières, florals aren’t important to us. What did you do to save money? I like the idea of florals and candles but don’t need anything extreme.

What ways did you save money when it comes to stationary? Did you take items out completely or find a bundle? There are so many things to print!

I printed my own stuff! I just bought card stock and found free templates online. I skipped the florals too for decor. My centerpieces were a jar with a candle and sand and beads in it. And I had faux florals for the boutonnières and bouquets

I haven’t started working on stationary yet. But for florals our event designer/florist is helping us save money by using some of the centerpieces to decorate for the ceremony. They will moved to the reception area during cocktail hour. She’s also only doing real flowers for the bouquets (haven’t decided if we want boutonnières yet). The reception flowers will be silk.

Mine is a vase with a $2 candle from IKEA with some clear shimmery stones. Venue provides a mirror and votives. I will have rose petals from Costco or Sams club sprinkled. Wedding invites also had no flowers. First set from Costco and second from there or Sams.

Our venue is a resort and are letting them use their decorations for the table settings and the dock on which we will get married. As for stationary and such, we bought customized postcards for our STDs and will go with a minimalist style invitations (no need to spend a lot of money on something that will ultimately be thrown out by the receiver).

The only flowers we will have is my bouquet which I've requested be minimalist.

Our big money saver is on alcohol. We having a brunch reception which includes a mimosa / bloody mar bar and it's unlimited (F&B per person is $50 each) We also saved a ton by opting for a sunrise wedding versus sunset, (but we also always planned for a sunrise wedding, just didn't know the cost savings in advance).

Our other cost savers came from our baker, we're doing "mini" cupcakes and just a 6" "cutting cake" - this is saving us $100s

We found a 75% off sale for stationary, so that saved us over $1000 on that. For florals, they're really our only decor so we're doing pretty extensive flowers.
