Staycation date night ideas

Sarah, on December 4, 2020 at 3:20 AM Posted in Family and Relationships 0 13
Due to Covid my fiancé and I are unable to take overnight trips away, without quarantining for two weeks (mandated by both of our jobs). We have both been stressed lately, normally we would have done an overnight trip, not now though. I am looking for suggestions on things my fiancé and I can do at home that is reasonably priced and a stress reliever?

Tonight my hubby and I are ordering take out &opening a bottle of wine. We did a day trip and visited the renegade winery at the poconos and did a wine tasting. We did small day trips such as went hiking at a state park. We will also pick a show on netflix and watch it together.

Look up date night box. But also, order a nice meal in do a date indoors. That is what was suggested during the lockdown earlier this year. I am sure you can google quarantine date ideas. But get dressed up, order to go from your favorite italian or whatever restaurant and set up the table nice as if you were in a nice restaurant.

Paint night, dinner, then movie night! My husband and I did that plenty of times during Covid. I went to the dollar store and bought paint supplies and a canvas and we looked up beginner paint classes on YouTube (on our tv). Once we finished painting we had dinner and drinks, then watched a movie.

We did it for Mother's Day, Father's Day, and a few random weekends as well.

So funny to see this post as I was just talking to my FH about fun things we can do at home. One thing we decided to do is the Hot Ones challenge. If you haven't seen the show, YouTube a episode or two. In a nut shell they eat 10 buffalo wings going from mild to extremely hot and burn your mouth off and die. 😆. Its a way for us to laugh and just have some fun. Afterwards, we will hangout and probably have some wine and play a game. My FH is a gamer so one thing we have done on date nights is I would ask him to teach me a combo or something. He would get so proud of me when I got it. Lol. Its nice and entertaining to just enjoy a fun evening at home being silly

Order takeout from a nicer restaurant, dress up, and enjoy a fancy meal at home! Start watching a new series on Netflix and enjoy popcorn or ice cream or some kind of treat. Go for a hike in a park or, if you live near the beach, go for a walk on the beach. Put up holiday decorations together. Bake holiday cookies. Play board games. Do a themed day (such as, Harry Potter or Tacos or Hawaiian) and center everything about the day - decorations, food, movies, games, etc - around that theme.

I recommend getting takeout instead and playing a game together.

We are doing an Italian night and making our own ravioli for the first time 😋
Everything else above are all super cute suggestions too! It important for us to set the tone for the evening to ensure it doesn’t feel the same as any other night (wine, tv, couch). We try to pick up the house first, set aside all work and chores, maybe light a couple candles and generally pretend like if we were on a weekend getaway so we can actually relax and enjoy the time together. Have fun!

Go out to like Walmart or Target and pick out some new PJs and a movie! Make some popcorn and use a straw with your favorite pop (or stop at a gas station and get a fountain pop for the full experience). It's like a movie date but in comfy PJs on your couch!

So my fiancé and I don’t like anything that is hot or spicy. If we did I would definitely take your eating Buffalo wings challenge up. Now the video games my fiancé and I both play. I am not as good as him, but I was playing all of quarantine. My fiancé is not the one to help me learn in video games. He is one of those you know what you are doing so just do it, it’s not complicated, and get good.

We do carpet picnics in our living room. Put down a blanket, some pillows, candles, order pizza or takeout, get champagne and have a picnic!
