Staying apart on for the night before the wedding?

Hi everyone! Wondering what everyone is doing the night before the wedding? My fiancé and I have been together 9 years (it will be 10 years before the wedding) and we’re trying to figure out what we should do the night before the wedding! Our wedding is semi-destination. It’s about an hour from our house and the rehearsal is taking place within the hotel, the night before, so we will already be there. We want to stay together the night before however I worry that we will regret it and wish we stuck to “tradition.” If we stay apart, this will also double our hotel expense which isn’t a huge deal, but worth noting...

What’s everyone else doing?! Also, if we stay together, he will be leaving the room bright and early and we won’t be seeing each other until our first looks later in the day.

Yes that’s what I think also! We’ve lived together for 2 years and every time we’ve spent a night or two apart, we can really feel the absence of each other so I think it’ll be nice to spend a few nights away and then not see each other until I’m walking down the aisle.

My fiancé and I agave been together for 17 years and have lived together for the past 13 years. We have two beautiful boys together. We will be staying apart the night before the wedding. He will be staying home and the guys will be getting ready at our home. I will be staying at the inn at our venue with my bridal party. Thought it would be nice to have a girls sleepover the night prior and it’ll make seeing each other at the ceremony all the more special I think! ☺️

Hi Tiffany we are going to try and stay away from each other a month "I SAID TRY' 🤣🤣 but we want to miss each other for the buildup of the wedding day and night. But we both will so tired and just fall asleep lol. I will say this will be hard for both of us,I will try to jump his bones 🤣🤣and so he is going to stay with a friend amd just send texts and chat with videos calls.

We're staying apart because I really love tradition. We also aren't doing a first look or seeing each other at any point before I walk down the aisle. We also have a semi-destination wedding, about two hours from us, so we will be there already along with most of our family. My fiance is going to stay in the room we had been sharing (we'll be in the hotel starting the Wednesday before the wedding), and I'm going to crash with my mom down the hall.

We rented a vacation house so we'll be sleeping together the night before but I'll be leaving first thing in the morning to get everybody breakfast and so I won't see him and then I'll send him to the grooms cabin so I won't see him until I walk down the aisle

We decided to sleep separate from each other, since Covid delayed our wedding we had to change venues and our venue is local to our home (about 4 blocks away) so I'm staying with my sister at her place. We decided to not see each other until the ceremony, no first look just when i get to the aisle. Not sure if I will even sleep that night without him. lol

I will be staying in a hotel the day/night before and getting ready with my bridal party. Our wedding is in the late afternoon!

🤣aww no I'm sorry to hear that but we toss and turn to but begin so much excitement about the next day is going to be our wedding day. We won't get any sleep so apart for that night as well and I have to get his bestman to get him up on time 🤣

Congratulations to you both newlyweds we are getting a hotel room but I also was thinking about just getting ready at home our venue is not that far and he also wants to see me when walking down the aisle but he will have to stay at a hotel room and we will use that room later after the wedding

This is a great question and have enjoyed seeing people’s thoughts on this as well. My FH and i initially hadn’t given it much thought until my nieces (also our only bridesmaids) freaked out and demanded we follow tradition. Since we’re having our rehearsal and wedding at a big rental house on the lake, he is just going to sleep in the game room pull out couch and I’ll sleep in the master bedroom. Then in the morning he’ll help with any big last minute set ups and is planning to go racing with his friends until we need to get ready, in separate rooms of the house of course.

Hahaha my fiance is the same way the decor not really interested but have asked on other details like our toasting glasses he choose and want to be involved in the cake tasting and the food menu which I have no problems with and I'm letting him chose our first dance song

Hi! So my fiancé and I are spending the night before apart. He’s staying with some of his groomsmen and I’m staying w my MOH and any of the bridesmaids who want to crash in her room. It’s works out bc her husband is a groomsmen and will be with my fiancé so.

I grabbed a hotel for me and my girls to stay in the night before to relax, wind-down, and just have fun! Then, we will have it for the night of, so him and I can spend that time together just the 2 of us. We have been together 6 years and have never had a weekend getaway. The pandemic had us canceling last year for our 5 year anniversary.

As long as you’re not getting ready in front of each other, I don’t think it will ruin the moment for a first look on your wedding day. You can stay together and go your separate ways in the morning to get ready.
