Step-Father of the Bride Gift...

FutureMrsZottola, on May 14, 2015 at 8:56 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 5

....Hey gang! I found this saying/poem that I like but I don't know what to have it engraved/embroidered/put on for my step-dad. We are not close, we don't say I love you, my dad is still living but I thought this was nice and appropriate for him but I have no idea where to put it. Do I put it on a handkerchief or is that too personal since I am getting my mom and dad one? It's too much wording for a pocket watch. I don't really want to get him a keychain b/c if he uses it he could lose it and if he doesn't use it then it will just kinda collect dust....UGH! He doesn't drink so a flask/beer mug is out of the question. I am out of ideas.... any suggestions as to how I could incorporate this saying into/onto a gift for him? TIA everyone

The poem:

It takes a special man to love another's child as his own. Thank you for always being there. Love, Ashley 7.11.15

Maybe have it engraved on a picture frame and then promise to give him a picture of the two of you from the wedding day in it after the wedding?

I thought about that twin but I am getting he and my mom an engraved pic frame from both me and FI with a pic of us in it. I am also giving his mom and dad the same frame and my dad the same frame LOL

Hmmm darn...well I happened to just get the Things Remembered Catalog a couple days ago and there's a cool desk clock in there. I found it online so you can see a picture. Here's the link:

There are a ton of other clocks though if you use their search tool and type in "clock". So maybe something like that would work??

The clock might be a good idea... IDK. I wish this weren't so hard. Like of all the crap I have done for this wedding.... this is the hardest decision LOL

Tina, my step dad doesn't drink coffee, he has no use for a pocketknife, cufflinks would be too small to engrave all that and he is in a tux so the tux place provides cuff links, the tie is a bow tie LOL
