Sticky backless bra for larger bust?

Jessica, on July 29, 2016 at 2:18 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 22

Hi everyone,

Just wondering whether anyone has found an adhesive backless bra that provides support and lift for larger bust sizes (F cup or larger). I am dealing with a tricky bridesmaid dress and am wondering if this might be a possible solution.

My dress is illusion back, so I have to wear a strapless, backless bra.

Honestly, I've only seen them up to DD...You probably should get a bra built in :/ How far down does the dress go? I have seen some body suits that go down a little further (like a little lower than mid back).

Can you work with a seamstress to do a built in one? Private User's right, I haven't seen them go up past a DD, and even when I do get them (DD here) they don't support enough for me. I don't really trust them and made sure to get a dress that had built in support for this reason.

For that size, it will NOT work. Trust. Try to get a seamstress to sew in a bra. Us larger girls get no love lol

I hate them things. They never work. I'm a DDD. I have taped my boobs down but I would not recommend that for a wedding day. Sewing in cups would be a good option. You have a pic of the dress?

No way that they would give you enough support. I would look into a VS multi-way bra, or getting cups sewn into your dress.

Check out lane Bryant/cacique. They might not have it in store but they do free shipping to the store. I just bought a new strapless last weekend, and I was impressed with how wide the band was, and it had this sticky stuff on it, it's not going anywhere!

@Private: It goes down to about the small of my back

    @S&J: see below

@Bethany0821: You may be thinking of a STRAPless bra. I would need a BACKless bra. If I'm wrong I apologize in advance.

Lol at the VS recommendation... no one with an F+ can ever shop there.

Buy to answer your question, I'd go see a seamstress to see if they can put a bra in. They should be able to with that style dress.

@Tiffany: I checked the VS website. They go up to a DDD, which I think is the same as F.

I have a large chest and my dress has lace down the back and needed a backless bra. I bought several...including extra low back, sticky ones, and a few other styles and none worked for me. My seamstress is sewing in cups and it has been much easier.

A local bra store recommended something that is like pasteies but also lifts. They were not expensive ($15ish) but I felt like I needed more.

ETA: I did a ton of research on the sticky bras and it seems like they only work really well for one use, which is great for a wedding, but many say if you sweat or the sticky part gets wet it looses its grip.

I have a b cup and don't feel that they are supported all that well in a sticky bra. I have tried several kinds. I agree with the suggestions on seeing what your seamstress can do for you!

I've used Nubra before for a gown that was strapless and backless. I'm a DD/E cup and it worked alright though I think they work better with smaller sizes. I tried looking on their website (http://www.nubra.com/home.php) but they don't have an updated size list yet.

Fitted cups inside the dress would work best though, I think.

OP Yea that's where mine is, too. They told me sticky bra and then the dress will hold it all in and I wouldn't need cups. I'm a D though. The one I picked was Fashion Forms Ultimate Boost. There was another one I tried by Numba and it basically just covered nips---def not supportive, but they might have larger sizes. They said that you could do that just to cover them and then build in cups...I would say you def need them to build in cups. I saw one post (I think it was on WW) that the girl brought in a regular strapless and the seamstress built it in. Maybe consider that?

    Good luck!

I've always found the sticky bras to be worthless. You need a real bra if at all possible. Maybe something like this would work?

You might want to check out sites like Fig Leaves and Herroom. They specialize in bras and specialty lingerie for fuller figures. You might be able to find something like a backless or very low back body suit that would work (I'm pictures something that looks like a one-piece bathing suit with a very low scoop back). Otherwise I'd go to a seamstress, especially if you can find one that specializes in bridal alterations.

I always have a seamstress (dd) before I lost weight (d) now build them into the dress for me. It is the same price as getting the stick Ons and less then the backless bras. And way more comfortable and supporting.
