I posted once before and loved and appreciated all the comments/feedback, but I'm still feeling pretty indecisive. I thought I'd post again and give a little more detail. (Sorry if this is long!)
Our wedding is in October. Our ceremony is in a redwood tree forest and our reception is in a grand ballroom in San Francisco. The ballroom has a lot of wood paneling with more dark/warm color tones and almost floor to ceiling windows looking out into the city. We're trying to go for a mix of woodsy/whimsical/fairytale with classic/elegant/grand and adding lots of greenery and candlelit/warm lighting everywhere. I'm pretty traditional and always pictured myself in a timeless, fitted, but extravagant all ivory dress with intricate lace and beading and a mantilla veil. Neither dress in my opinion fit those criteria, but I'm running out of time (and omg who knew wedding dress shopping would be such an ordeal, having to make appointments and deal with consultants, totally just wish I could just go through each dress myself). So here are my thoughts whenever I go through either dress.
Dress #1: love the dramatic train. like the lace and flowers, but not sure if it's too flowery and too 3D. would order the flare of the skirt to come up a little higher so it's more trumpet shape rather than mermaid. don't pay attention to the bunching on the bodice in the picture. the sample size was too big and we were trying to raise the flare point on my body to get a better idea of what it could look like. would also add off the shoulder sleeves and have the dress in all ivory.
Dress #2: love the fit and the design of the embroidery is pretty flattering, but concerned the appliques might look too chunky and not match our wedding design. love the off the shoulder sleeves. concerned it's not bridal enough. would order in all ivory and add lining throughout. don't pay attention to the bunching of nude at the flare of the skirt in the picture. we were trying to see what it would look like without the nude tulle underneath and just having ivory under the sparkle layer. concerned the sparkle will look too silver and not portray well in pictures. concerned it's not bridal enough. will also order a longer train and put a crinoline layer underneath during alterations to make the skirt flare.
What do you think? Are my thoughts totally off? What would you choose for me and do you have any advice on a veil?? Thank you!!
(Also, my fiance is just starting to ask about suit color. Also not sure on that...our color scheme is maroon and other warm toned deep reds.)
