Hello brides!

My fiance and I received a call from our venue telling us that our July 4th wedding is going to be canceled. Of course I was upset and devastated however now we are looking to have a small ceremony in our backyard on July 4th and have our originally planned wedding at a later date. I want to wear my original wedding dress with all of the accessories selected but I am unsure. Are any of you brides moving forward with your original wedding date wearing your original wedding dress for both weddings? Both my mother and mother-in-law to be told me to just get a new one later kind of don't want to spend the extra money lol

If our venue postponed our wedding in October, then we’ll still going to get married on that day. But, in my case, I won’t wear my current dress that because it will just be FH and I. Instead I’ll save it for the later date when we get to celebrate with guests.

    Hello,

I am still going forward with my June 27 wedding in Pennsylvania. We are hoping and praying to go green before then and our wedding will still look pretty normal, but if we don't go green, we are still getting married in a small ceremony that day and I plan to wear the same gown on that day and the reception, whenever that may be if we have to postpone. If you love your dress, i wouldn't spend the extra money. Plus, then you get to wear it twice!!!!! Good luck to you and God bless! Smiley heart

    Hi Serena
My wedding date is June 14, 2020. I am planning on wearing a nice simple cute dress and not wear my wedding dress however my finance is still planning on wearing his planned suit.

I am not going to wear my big dress for a couple of reasons and instead will plan to wear the simpler, but still white dress, I already have for the reception. For one, I haven't had a chance to get my big dress altered yet and we are now looking to move our civil ceremony forward so there probably wouldn't be time. Secondly, we are now looking to elope out of state which would mean packing up the big dress and carrying it to a destination and we will likely have to walk a fair amount to get to our ceremony site. And thirdly, I want our big ceremony in front of friends and family next year to be special with a whole other look than the ceremony we are having this year. FH is excited about getting surprised twice.

My fiancé and I just postpone our wedding to next year October. It was going to be labor weekend. I was very upset about it. But in the end I got my October wedding I just have to wait a year longer.

I have been contemplating wearing my dress, but I wasn't able to get alterations done on it because of the pandemic! I am currently searching for an elopement dress and struggling a little bit (we are June 20th). I say if the dress fits, wear it! Why not! You can wear it again if you have a rescheduled date.

If I do n’t wear a wedding dress when I get married, I think I might regret it later. I need it even for small weddings.
