Stresses of wedding planning

Janae, on March 1, 2021 at 8:15 PM Posted in Planning 0 10
Hello fellow brides, how are you dealing with stress during your wedding planning? I've had to reschedule my wedding to this year(which I'm sure most of you have had to reschedule as well). I've had to find a different makeup artist because she is moving this year. An just yesterday my wedding photography had to cancel for personal reasons. I'm trying not to freak out but I'm like what else can go wrong? Any advice on how you de-stress? Or if you need to vent, vent in the comments.

Trying to plan a wedding during a pandemic isn’t for the weak! We’ve been engaged since July 2019- I’ve had my bridesmaids chosen, their gifts bought, dress bought (doing the last alterations this weekend). So basically EVERYTHING for my side is done. He barely chose his groomsmen a week ago & the suits were just ordered today! It takes 4-5 weeks for the suits to come in & our wedding is in 32 days! Really??? He waited until the very last minute & we’re not positive they’ll be in on time!

Definitely not, n oh no. Men can be the worst, they don't realize how you can't leave things last minute when it comes to a wedding. I've had to explain that to my fiance many times. Hope they come in time!

I’ve come to the understanding that the whole planning part is not stressful… It’s other people that can be so unreliable meaning vendors and venues. These people are so frustrating to deal with. I even have an event planner and she’s pretty much useless at this point. Lol

I agree, they are supposed to help not make it more stressful. My issue with vendors is them not getting back to me. How can I plan if you aren't answering my questions?

Did you try Thumbtack or Instagram searches for the wedding MUA or photographer? Good thing is your wedding is not until October. I’m sure everything will come through.
Though it’s a rather annoying journey to get there, for sure!

It’s important to find time for yourself to just do things non wedding related

Our wedding almost got cancelled amongst all the COVID restrictions. As the date neared I actually felt a sort of peace... like, whatever happens is going to happen anyway. Wasn't easy plowing ahead with the uncertainty but we were one of the lucky ones, wedding managed to go ahead. One vendor pulled out at the last minute and we had go the DIY route. Several things went wrong on the day too (including a few key people who were late). But I just keep telling myself that SOMETHING would've gone wrong and I'm just glad none of those things were the essential things. You'll get there!
