Stressful Planning

Athina, on June 28, 2019 at 8:18 PM Posted in Planning 0 18
I'm really happy that my hubby and I are finally having a wedding. But this whole wedding has been stressful! Can't wait for it to be over and done so we can relax and get back to our usual programming. Is anyone else stressing or noticed that planning isnt as exciting as they thought? What are you doing to unwind or keep a cool head?

I definitely don't think it's as exciting as it was portrayed to be ALL THE TIME! I have my moments when I just want to scream but other times I want to cry (happy tears). When I get overwhelmed, I just tend to back away for a little bit and spend time with my fiance or play a game or something. Whatever else would keep my mind from exploding lol

Lol I totally agree. It isnt always fun planning. Especially when your FH doesn't want to be that much involved in planning (my hubby thinks wedding planning is more of a "women's thing")

I took a long break from wedding planning after I felt like I was starting to stress so remember if you need a breather it's ok to take some time just for you. Wedding planning can be very consuming and overwhelming. And don't forget to do date nights where you don't talk about wedding planning to just reconnect

My FH has very little interest in wedding planning too, I constantly get “whatever makes you happy.” I literally asked him how he felt about a magenta tux hoping for some kind of reaction and got “whatever makes you happy.” I still have over a year, so I’m working on the big things and focusing on fun parts as much as possible. Sometimes I just have to leave it for a few days though.

Omg, my hubby says the same thing too. That's so annoying lol. Obviously there is a reason why we ask because we care to get them involved and share this experience. But it's not good to argue about it so most of the time I just say "ok..."

I hope if it’s something too out there he’ll speak up! I’m sure he knew I would never ask him to wear a magenta tux and just didn’t want to keep talking about it 🙄. Try to find some aspect of the planning he is interested in, my FH suggested and is pretty adamant about doing a joint bachelor/bachelorette party or at least joint activities. Good luck!

I totally get it. I'm surprised that sometimes my FH even voices his opinion on anything lol. I don't blame them though. They just expect to show up lol.

Yup wedding planning sucks. Mine is in 4 days and I cannot wait to put this behind me...the closer we get the more tension its causing between people esp with my FH and I have very little patience so I havent been the best mom to my 4 yr old.

Oh boy! I pray that all goes well and you'll be able to leave this wedding stress behind you soon. Its true that the closer your date the more anxious you feel. 😕 cant wait for it to be over too. Mines in August.

I too was stressed during the wedding planning process. I did a lot of self care during planning to keep me calm.

I would go for walks, do Spin classes and do Yoga. It really helped me with stress.

Hehehe I actually went to a spin class yesterday. It is a pretty good stress reliever. Yoga is not a bad idea either. 😊
