Struggling with my vendors

Laura, on November 25, 2020 at 12:16 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
Hey all! I’m hoping to get a little guidance. Before covid I was virtually done with wedding planning. Had all my vendors chosen and all. Then covid hit and we were forced to reschedule our wedding to next year. Since postponing, my vendors (3 in particular) have not acted like they care at all about my fiancé and I or our wedding at all. I can barely get responses and when I do they act like they are too busy for any questions I have. It’s honestly ruining what should be such a happy time for us. I just want to cry and I don’t know how to process any of this. It’s so heartbreaking.

You may want to calculate to see if it's worth finding new vendors.

Are they not responding at all or just taking longer than usual to respond? If it’s the latter, it could be that they are working with other clients on covid rescheduling, making changes too.

If they are delayed in responding, it might be because they are busy and your wedding has now been pushed back. If they still have weddings planned for the next few months, those couples might be getting priority. I would try not to stress about it. When is your new date?

I'm so sorry. Like Meghan said, the delayed response could mean they are just really busy and depending on when you posted your wedding to your wedding might not be their number one priority unfortunately.

How far away is your wedding? If it is well into next year, just curious what your needs are from them at the moment. If you are asking a lot of COVID-specific questions, and you wedding is still far away, not sure what insight they could even give you right now as to how things will look next year. In general, I have found that most wedding vendors I've communicated with (even pre-COVID) seem to be on their own timeline, Lol. It's a place where I've had to learn to be more patient that I would usually.

Agree with the others- if it’s pushed into next year, current couples would take priority.

If I were a vendor, I wouldn’t exactly be putting a lot of time into answering questions when the event probably won’t even be able to take place in 2021. Things are not looking good, so I guess it depends on when you’re postponing it to. I think they’re also trying to figure things out and may have many brides contacting them for the same dates even. But if all 3 happen to be ignoring you, then maybe time to move on.
