Struggling with the Timeline

Denise, on August 18, 2019 at 2:00 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

So I'm having the ceremony on Friday and the reception on Saturday. I'm trying to finalize a timeline but I'm so unsure about all of it.

So the Ceremony starts at 3 on Friday and the reception starts at 3 on Saturday.

Here's what I have, does this seem logical? Or am I forgetting something/not allotting enough time/allotting too much time?

6 AM - Wake up

6:30 AM - Eat Breakfast

11:30 AM - Getting Ready Pictures

Noon - Start Hair

1 PM - Start Make-up

1:40 PM - Get Dressed

2:15 PM - After Pictures/Bridals

2:40 PM - Leave for Ceremony

3:00 PM - Ceremony Invitation Start Time

3:30 PM - After Ceremony Pictures

It doesn’t seem off expect for the getting ready pictures. You starting at 11:30 but won’t start hair until 12 and make up until 1? Won’t you rather have more time for pictures after your hair and make up is done. I say start pictures once hair and make up is almost done so is more of the retouch. You can take some pictures with your robe and then get dress by 1:40 and take all the remaining pictures with your dress. You can also take advantage to take some single photos with your family before the ceremony.

Why does everyone have to get up at 6am? Also depending on how many people in your party hair and makeup is going to take longer than an hour each, you also want to give yourself some buffer time in case it does go long. I’d have everyone start getting ready an hour earlier and let them sleep in a have breakfast closer to 9, they’re going to be long days. You don’t want people exhausted at the end of it

How many people are getting hair and makeup done and how many stylists do you have?
I just went through this 3 weeks ago....we had 5 girls plus myself to get through hair and makeup, with only one stylist for hair and one stylist for makeup. Hair and makeup started at 830am for a 2pm first look. My hair and makeup started around noon. Photographer showed up at 1 for getting ready and detail shots. I got in my dress at 140. There's no need to get a ton a pictures before everyone has hair and makeup done. Do your cute getting ready photos after hair and makeup, everyone should still be in their getting ready outfit until just before you put on your dress.
Dont forgot about lunch, you will definitely want food before walking down the aisle. Everything else looks good.

I’m normally up at 6 am anyway so that is just my normal 😁 and I’m the only one getting my hair and makeup done. Everybody else opted out

Awesome, that'll make the day much easier. We were busy the entire day leading up to the ceremony.
I would consider starting hair and makeup a little earlier, maybe 11? I left 2 hours for hair and makeup, this also allowed me a couple bites of food before pictures.
Would also consider doing photos either after hair and makeup or towards the end of hair and makeup.

Typically "getting ready pictures" are basically after everyone is ready and are more just final touches. Like after HAMU is almost done and they are touching up lipstick & recurling strands of hair that went flat & spraying hairspray.
