Our officiant has scripts to choose from with what fits us best. Perhaps he or she can give you ideas.

Vows are promises. What do you promise to each other?

I liked the Brides.com article Liz posted.

The article says to keep it to a few minutes, so you don't have to write a novel. Try to think of something that stands out about your relationship (first meeting, first "I love you," a notable date, etc.), something you love about your partner (their laugh, sense of style, kindness, etc.), and the things that are most important to you in a marriage (faithfulness, loyalty, teamwork, support, etc.) and craft a narrative around that. Also keep in mind that you're reading these in front of your guests, so don't say anything too embarrassing or personal that will make either of you uncomfortable.

I started off with funny things we did when we started dating, went into when I knew he was the one and followed up with a few promises.
