The very first request I made was that no matter what else happens, I absolutely refused to get married in a barn. I don't want to wear suspenders with no tie and drink out of mason jars next to hay bales, looking like I just stepped out of a Mumford & Sons music video.

As a guy, I haven't been conditioned as much as women to picture all the details of my wedding since childhood, but I've known I didn't want a barn wedding since the day I learned about barn weddings.
