Subtle Subtle ways to incorporate Disney into the wedding?

Jessica , on January 26, 2013 at 3:35 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 21

Anyone have any ideas? I definitely don't want it to scream Disney anywhere (even though that is where we are going for the honeymoon) but we were thinking little things to snuggle into the decor and etc. We do have a few ideas already...

A blue starfish earring that I'm going to pin to the ribbon holding my bouquet--The Little Mermaid (and my "something blue")

Wicker basket to hold disposable cameras--Pocahontas' corn basket

Blue and silver ribbon wands for the kids to play with--Cinderella

Beeswax candles--Winnie the Pooh

floating lanyard hanging amongst the normal round paper lanterns--Tangled

We're going to hide some Mickey ears on one of the "pearls" in the cake.

I'm really hoping to find some ideas for Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, Mulan, Aladdin, Hercules, and Hunchback of Notre Dame, now. Any ideas???

You could name your tables after your fave disney movies instead of table numbers, incorporate them into favors, name a signature drink after a movie like a blue drink and call it under the sea, fix your hair like sleeping beauty's, wear the glass (clear) slippers from Cinderella, have your flower girl dress like Belle, etc...

I was actually seriously considering doing my hair similar to Sleeping Beauty's! Your other ideas aren't bad either.

I don't know if you bought your dress yet but I got mine from Alfred Angelo's Disney princess collection (belles dress). It's Disney- related yet wedding appropriate and unless you came out and said "I'm a Disney princess" it just looks like a gorgeous gown. I love Disney too but my fh isn't so keen on it lol.

What about finding a carpet to put somewhere - in front of the sweetheart table, gift table, etc., that looks like the one from Aladdin? Book centerpieces for Belle.

I've got my dress already but I saw those and really love them! Probably would have been perfect. lol.

I really like the carpet idea!

I was wanting to do a rose under a glass dome as a centerpiece for Beauty and the Beast but I can't find a dome anywhere. The books are just as good, though, I think. Thanks!

Oh I jsut thought of something! Like I said before you could name your tables, well you can do the movie themed tables! Like Beauty and the Beast, you can have the teapot, cups, candle stick, etc...something that shows the theme of the movies, that would be cute!

Maybe! I don't want anything to be real obvious but if I can make it subtle then that could be cute

I like Kasey's idea. I think it would only be obvious if you were using the actual Disney licensed stuff. I think this would be a nice nod to the movies without it being childish.

NO DISPOSABLE CAMERAS!!!! They are a waste of money. You will pay to develop garbage!!!!

Send invites to Disneyworld and Disneyland. They will send you back a congrats in the mail. You can frame it.

    More Mickey ideas...

Find a pocket watch globe for the rose? Just put a vase upside down.

Your first song could be one from the disney movies - we aren't even doing a disney theme and our first dance will be to Tangled's "I see the light"

Oh no! Disposable cameras are a no-go? I've already bought mine and was so looking forward to it. Do they just come out blurry or something?

I love love the Disney invite thing! That is so cute! And I think the vase thing for the rose might be a good alternative since I can't find a dome anywhere.

What about the classic Disney font in some random places! Subtle yet everyone recognizes it as the Disney font!

And I agree with the no disposable cameras! i would try to return them if you can. Actually if you just threw them out youd still be saving money. Since u wouldn't have to pay to get them all developed and then pay for pictures you don't even like. Everyone has a cell phone or a digital camera with them these days and then just choose one of the many upload sites. Free and ALOT better quality!

What about a pashima under the cake on the cake table for the table cloth. That would be very Aladin

To incorporate the Hunchback of Notre Dame you might have the BM wear fabric covered headbands like Esmerelda's hair scarf

I'm a fan of "hidden Mickey" ideas. Just three flowers or pearls somewhere on the cake/invites/ centerpieces... Since there are hundreds throughout the parks it's an easy way to pull a piece in without everyone noticing.

You can get domes at the "Save on Crafts" website!

You can also do a disney character peeking out of one of the layers of your cakes: http://pinterest.com/pin/157555686934361107/
