Suits on a budget for groomsmen!

M&JPrice, on January 28, 2013 at 11:42 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 8

Hi! I have been desperately on the hunt for groomsmen suits for my fiance's groomsmen and for my groom that are less than $150! I found something I like for $135 on Macys.com but one of the groomsmen is a larger guy and they don't have his size available. I'm in the Atlanta area. We have went to Savvi Formal, Mens Warehouse, and JoS A. Bank, etc. All the major places in the metro atlanta area. I'd like to find a light grey pant and vest combo for an outdoor wedding June 1st. No suit jacket because I like the less traditional look plus it will keep them cooler. Any sugestions would be greatly appreciated!

We are going budget-friendly outfits for our guys as well. My wedding is the day after yours : )

Since it is going to be hot (where we are) I didn't want to do jackets for my guys. So what we are doing is having them wear black slacks, shoes, and belt (most guys already have that so won't have to buy it) and then we bought them black vests from Macy's on sale for $18 dollars each! Then we got them ivory pocket squares on Etsy for $6 each. We will have them wear ivory long sleeve shirts with the sleeves rolled up, and then any "mosty" navy blue tie that they want. So in total, we might have them buy an exact shirt so they all match perfectly, and then a tie (if they don't already have one). And the only thing we bought for them was the vest and pocket square. Cheap for everyone and stuff they can wear again!

That sounds great! Maybe I should just go into Macys or Dillards to see what I can find on sale because the selection online is sometimes different. I figured most of our guys will have at least a white dress shirt and either black or dark grey shoes so if we purchased their ties that would help cut cost. That way if we can find some light grey dress slacks and the matching grey vest thats all they really would have to purchase. I wish we could do the rental option but its either a full tux at most places or they require the jacket and shoes which no one needs. Thanks for your help! Congrats on your upcoming wedding!

I was also was looking for the light grey slacks/vest combo for our spring beach wedding. I was not able to find a suit I liked with matching vest but I found the perfect suit at Macy's and we are just having the GM wear the slacks and FH will be the only one wearing the full suit. Try looking at Perimeter Mall ( the big mall up near Sandy Springs) in ATL, Macy's has a separate men's store there and their suit selection was amazing!!! I found a Tommy Hilfiger suit and each pair of pants was just $45 and the jacket for FH was $85 I think. We also had the issue of one of the GM is a bigger guy and they did not have his size, but close. My mom is pretty savy with sewing so she looked in the pants and knew that she could let them out so they would fit!! Hope this helps and good luck.

JCPenneys has J Ferrar grey and black suits for $100. The vest is $25 more. They are modern cut and look excellent on my FH.

We are going to JC Penny's to look for suit pieces this week. FH buys most of his suit/dressy pieces from there for a really good price. And most locations have a pretty nice selection and the quality is good as well.

I don't like the idea of renting a suit that costs the same as buying one.

If you have a BELK I would try them. About a month ago my groom-to-be bought a ton of dress slacks for next to nothing. I remember them having the vests to match as well. We did casual for my boys....pants, dress shirts, belts, ties, suspenders. Good Luck

I got mine from mensusa for $79, and they looked great!! Two things, make sure the guys are sized before ordering (returns suck) and you have to get the legs hemmed. Overall amazing deal I couldn't be happier with the quality!

Also if you need cheap ties, I got all the ties from http://www.cheap-neckties.com/ for $5 and the quality was phenomenal and fast shipping!
