Summer groom's attire for hot weather!

April, on March 22, 2018 at 10:08 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 10

Recommendations for my groom's attire. We're not having a wedding party, so that's less to worry about, but we live in AL and are getting married in July. It'll be an outdoors dusk ceremony with an inside/ outside reception. Very laid back, family & friends party-type reception with outside board games, entertainment, etc. My dress is lace trumpet style bridal gown.

We are having a beach wedding and I’m “letting” my FH decide what he wants to wear. I think he’s leaning towards light gray slacks and a button down long sleeve. Potentially a vest. No tie. No jacket.

    Lol, "letting"!
My fh wants zero part in any decision making so I'll have to drag & force him to try on things!

The FH was really undecided! I gave him huge options (from tux to dressing like Charlie on Three and a Half Men). Slowly we whittled it down to khakis and a white button down, probably with a tie and possibly with a vest.

I like it when the degree of formality of the bride's clothing is the same as the groom's. Given that you are wearing a wedding dress, I suggest he wear a suit. He could choose linen or seersucker, both of which are made for warm climates. He is free to remove his jacket after the ceremony, and pics.

Honestly FH is probably going to wear something he’s got in his closet! ((My only concern is if he wear a white shirt that it should match the shade of ivory ((or be on shade darker)) than my dress so i won’t look dirty))

We are getting married on the beach and I think the guys are doing grey pants dress shirt, suspenders and ties/bow ties. I wanted the suspenders because we didn't want a vest, but I wanted them to have something.. I'm think my FH will also wear a suit jacket at least for some pictures and ceremony. Oh and we are all going barefoot!!!

An outdoor wedding in July sounds miserable to me. I would move it inside and then you don't have to worry about what he wears and how warm he'd be.

I would suggest a light colored summer weight suit; I love a tan suit for some reason. He can take off the jacket later. If you're wearing a formal dress, he can at least wear a jacket. I would put suspenders underneath for when he takes off the jacket.
