Sunday Wedding: good or bad?

I am considering a Sunday wedding because of the cheaper rates but I am having issues of thinking a lot of people won't come because it is on a Sunday and work the next day for some. Can I have some reassurance? Please? Like did you have a Sunday wedding and someone had decided to ask off on Monday...

Have you thought about a Friday wedding? Due to cost savings we thought about both and settled on Friday evening so that people will have the rest of the weekend to do what they would like and potentially not have to take a day or at least a full day off of work.

    💯

We had a Sunday adults only boozy brunch wedding dance party in September on a non holiday weekend. It began at 11 am and ended at 5:30pm. Food and drinks were available immediately as you walked in.

It was at a restaurant near his entire immediate and extend family lives. My side is completely scattered and we had 100 guests.
People came from Hong Kong, the UK, across the country and despite it being a Sunday wedding, an amazing turnout. The dance floor was packed and people wanted to keep the party going.

Some guests took Monday off but nobody made a huge sink about it. It ended early enough that people left an hour after dancing began.

    Tips:
    - utilize Saturday for welcome/rehearsal lunch or dinner, for those coming from out of town, help them get on a schedule if you're able
    - Opt for an early start, this means a chance of not getting sunset photos
    - your photographer may have a wedding the night before yours
    - if you are putting for an early start keep in mind you'll have to wake up early especially if you're doing hair and makeup. (I woke up at 4:30 and only had one best lady and mom's services)
    - if there are or of town guests make sure your venue can accommodate space to hold luggage if people need to leave directly from the wedding
    -don't bank on a huge after-party

We are doing a sunday wedding. We cant afford any other day than a weekday. We figured those who really wanted to be there would make it happen.

I have never heard of anyone going "Oh yay, a wedding invitation! Oh wait, it's on a Sunday! I guess I can't go."

    You're good!!! Smiley laugh

I've been to mostly Sunday weddings over Saturday weddings and even though I have work next day never been an issue. If I'm traveling I have off next day anyway, if I'm local it's a close family member that I wouldn't miss anyway. I live on NJ and it's one of the most expensive states for weddings and Saturday weddings come with prices like $40+ extra per guest.. AND 175 person MIn. It sucks but I'm having a Sunday wedding. This is also my worry but I didn't really have a choice with dates and pricing on a May wedding.

Fridays were too expensive for me as well but..if you can afford it Friday weddings are more popular and can just start later end later. Another option is to do it off peak. Like winter! All the dates available cheaper.
