Sunday wedding

Ari, on January 14, 2021 at 11:27 AM Posted in Planning 0 11
We’re pretty set on having our wedding September 4, 2022 which is a Sunday Labor Day weekend. How are all of you who are having Sunday weddings doing it? The biggest worry is conflicting with church services and trying to figure out how to have a church wedding on a Sunday. TIA!

We're getting married on a Sunday this June in St. Pete, destination wedding for us. The way I looked at it was that even if we were getting married on a Saturday most people would still have to take at least 1 day off work to come in for the weekend. We just decided to do what works for us, I'm not offended by anyone that won't or can't come. I think especially since you are looking at Labor Day weekend and a lot of people will be off the next day anyhow you'll be fine.

And I forgot to add that you'll probably just want to plan on making sure your ceremony is later, I would just talk to your church, I'm sure you are their first Sunday wedding

Some churches flat out won’t allow weddings on service days (I know mine doesn’t), so that should be the first thing you check!

That being said, I went to a Sunday wedding over Memorial Day weekend and people partied like it was a Saturday night!

Check to see if they'll even book a wedding on a Sunday first

My fiancé and I are getting married this upcoming Labor Day weekend, Sunday, September 5, 2021. Our church is letting us have an afternoon wedding at 4:30 pm. We aren't able to set up early in the day, but we personally don't have a problem with that.

My friend had her wedding on a Sunday. Their church doesn't book weddings on Sunday's so they had their minister come to their venue to give a blessing (which was also lower in price because of the day). It was a beautiful wedding, and most of their guest list still attended.

I didn’t even think about churches not doing weddings on Sunday. I messaged the church, fingers crossed they do! Thank you

Yeah I didn’t even think about churches not doing it, so I asked and hopefully they do. If not, Saturday wedding it is!

I just asked them about it, I’m hoping they do but if not, we’ll just move it up a day. Thank you!
