Is anyone else on here planning an EXTREMELY CHEAP wedding? I came to this site hoping for some help in: diy, planning, and health and beauty tips. Is anyone else on here planning an EXTREMELY CHEAP wedding? I came to this site hoping for some help in: diy, planning, and health and beauty tips. But everything I read is like: my budget is 30k for 100 people.

Maybe that's for some people, but I feel like there has to be more people in a mindset similar to mine. A wedding is a day to remember, yes. But I'd rather spend my money on our honeymoon and our lives together. My budget is 3,000 dollars for 200 guests. I'm getting married at a park, my family is catering (their crockpots, my "dump" meals) Bulk flowers from Costco and making our own decorations and bouquets and cupcakes.

Anybody else in a similar boat?

I agree with you an don't understand why people are being so negative here. I've been to some great weddings that had a lower budget and it felt more relaxing and comfortable...lots of family members brought food an drink as if in a family reunion. The last wedding I knew of the supplies an deco came from Dollar Tree an none of the guests even knew! The cake was made by a guest an looked professional as well. It's kindness, love and laughter that makes the experience enjoyable not how much money was spent.

Yes ma'am. My budget is a lot smaller than that.

I understand where you're coming from. Please don't get too worried about the majority here. Big fancy weddings don't equal a happy marriage. My first wedding cost a total of $8000 for about 130 people. I was divorced 11 years later. I'm now planning my second wedding...in my 40s and realize much better that the marriage is what counts...not a big fancy wedding. Even if you don't have a lot to spend, you're still deserving of the experience of a wedding. I was just at an extremely low budget wedding last night. Extreme sale non-altered wedding gown, fire hall reception, self catered taco bar, cash bar, homemade bouquets. You know what... People still had a great time. The couple still ended up married. All was well. You know your people and what is acceptable in your circle.
