Super casual.

Jessica, on June 8, 2014 at 9:42 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 16

So our wedding and reception are going to be super casual. I have posted before about fh wanting to wear jeans (sigh) with a camo vest and tux jacket. its super cute however I really wanted him to have some pictures in full tux so we compromised and I am going to let him change into his jeans after the ceremony. I know most of his friends and co workers will wear jeans anyways and he will want to be comfortable like them. it is his wedding too so I allowed, lol.

anyone else having a casual wedding??

Ours is causual-ish. But Sunday best "casual" I guess if it makes sense with your party, than it makes sense Smiley smile It's like a reception dress for your FH! I know my FH is excited to wear is gray tux Smiley smile

You had me until camo...I could do jeans no problem but i draw the line at camo.

    hey, to each their own!

We are also super casual, low key. FI will be in a suit, but after the wedding, and dinner we are having anyone who wants to join us come back to the house for bbq...and yes, I will be changing into yoga pants at that point. Who wants to bonfire in a wedding dress?

Ive seen TONS of cute pictures where guys are wearing jeans..but only if it fits in with the rest of the crowd like it sounds like it will. you cant just have that one random dude in jeans when everyone else is in dress clothes. sounds like a good compromise though. i know its hard sometimes for us to accept that it is the grooms day too Smiley winking

I'm having a semi formal. My stance is I would like to not have anyone wearing jeans at any point. The way I have described it is sunday best.

Laura have you seen the camo vests for the tuxes? they are not bad. I am not a camo person but they are not bad. some of the guys that model them are pretty hot! I have already been to about 15 or so weddings with FH and his buddies....so I know that they will not wear anything other than jeans. even if I said it was a black tie event. I don't even know that they would know what that meant!

I am just glad that he will remain in the entire tux for the ceremony. I am going to try to push it till after dinner, lol. you know if I stall him long enough and we are busy shaking hands and taking pictures he may not have time to change.

Yep, but hopefully no jeans or shorts. We're asking for collared short-sleeve shirts, slacks, and sundresses. FH will be wearing a white, short-sleeved collared shirt with NO tie.

We are doing jeans and vests. He is a sweatshirt and jeans guy. I was originally thinking of doing a suit and letting him change after then decided that he would never wear it again do why waist the money.

We are going to have a mix my family & friends will be dressy and his mom and one of his brothers will be dressy (and a few of the older guests) but his other brother and his friends will be in jeans. hey, as long as they are behaved I am not going to argue. the most important thing is that everyone is happy and having a good time. clothes are just clothes. to me anyways.

I don't really care what the guests wear, but we have nice things planned for the wedding party - not sure what to call it, not quite semi-formal. The plan is that after cake cutting, the wedding party can change into whatever they want. So just for the bulk of the pictures, they have to look nice. I'm planning on staying in my dress as long as I can, even if it looks out of place later in the evening...

Semi casual. FH is wearing dress slacks, shirt, vest and silk tie. No jacket. I'd be ok with jeans if they were brand new and black. Lol

We are doing casual. All I am asking is no jeans and no tee shirts. I still want the pictures to look nice. We are in Florida so I am not going to say no shorts.

I want my guests to be comfortable in what they wear. If they are comfortable is jeans, then wear jeans. End of June in Indiana can be pretty hot and muggy, so if they want shorts.... whatever IDGAF what anyone wears as long as I'm the only one in a wedding dress.

OP, for your FH and his camo, tell him to ROCK IT!! I think it's great that he's showing his style. Also, way to go on making the day about him too!!!!

WE will have guests in jeans I know we will. I don't care. I just want people to show up and share our day. My FH says he is getting a suit but I'm not a 100% sure that he will end up with one. LOL

Ours isn't casual, but FHs cousin is getting married next month and it's very casual. It's at a party barn with BBQ and the invitation says shorts are no problem. I think it fits with their venue and theme so it's OK. I'll still probably wear a dress, but like a casual sun dress if that makes sense.

Ours will not be causal. Not black tie but I am very particular about dress and we have it listed as cocktail attire. I used that because of a description I found online. Do what's best for you and what fits your personality
