Sur La Table Registry

Jessica, on February 17, 2013 at 2:42 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 9

Okay, I just had to post this. If you are thinking of a kitchen store registry (William Sonoma, Pottery Barn etc) go with Sur La Table. FH are big foodies, we have a small kitchen but really wanted some items. Sur La Table does a special gift registry experience Sunday Mornings were you go before the store is open, register, and they cook you breakfast! I'm not talking a bagel here, they made us: Corn muffins, bacon (omg it was amazing FH asked for the secret), eggs, and hash with red pepper, OJ (oh and they opened one of the store Jams (Wild Maine Blueberry) and coffee/cappuccino/latte. They gave us actual useful advice on items we would use, or wouldn't and were not pushy at all. This was so much fun, if you are interested, do it!

Yes! We did Sur La Table and I LOVE it! The experience was great, and being able to register when no one else was there was GREAT.

Thanks for the tip! I was definitely planning on doing a kitchen store as one of our registries.

I just read this to my FH and he stared dancing...now he's excited about registering Smiley winking I suppose we should possibly end with this place because it will set the bar high and he won't want to register anywhere else...haha!

Omg! I want to register there too but my sister keeps on telling me that it is too expensive and that none of my guests will be able to afford anything. What kind of things did you register for and what was the average price if you dont mind me asking? I just really want to register but my sister bummed me out. :-(

@Shelley.... don't listen to people who say that... if you register at a variety of places people will find something - and if they don't then they usually get something else anyways - you register where you want and people will find a way to contribute ! Plus they have items that are under $10 that I'm sure you guys would want/need.

What we're going to do is comb through all of our stuff and write a list of what needs to be replaced, i.e. strainer, can opener, thermometer... those are all small ticket items. So we don't have to worry about it...

Too expensive? Yes some things are pricey there but we have many things on the list there under $50. Those include a pizza stone ($27), mixing bowls- set of 10 ($39), even some of the Le Creuset items ($29, $39), chilli grilling rack ($9), cookie pan ($12) and the list goes on. We only have 6 items over $100 and one over $200. I would do it Shelley, we chose Sur La Table as our "expensive store" but it really isn't that bad.

They carry more expensive brands there but not everything is really expensive. My Cuisinart immersion blender cost the same amount of money there as it did at BBB. I liked it for some of the more uncharacteristic items. We registered for our everyday dishes and some fun things at Sur La Table. It was a great experience.
