I was shocked. We hadn’t at the time known each other very long. It was a long distance relationship so one day he invited me up to see where he lived and stay the weekend so I drove up and after a day or so I suddenly got really sick and he let me try to shake it off for a couple days but it got really bad, so he took me to the hospital and thank god he did or I likely wouldn’t be here, and I was put on IV antibiotics and stayed for a few days and was discharged. He told me he was going to take me home and took me back “home” to his place where he continued to take care of me for the next couple weeks (because I couldn’t really walk or sit up right) and one day he came home from work, when I was starting to feel better and he asked me to marry him after explaining how much I meant to him. We had known each other at that point 6 weeks so he didn’t have a ring but it was honestly the most romantic thing ever because you could tell it was truly from the heart and he meant it. We’ve been engaged since December 2016 to be wed September 2019

I was completely shocked! My fiancé actually proposed at a family members house. We had been looking at rings and when I selected the style I wanted he ordered the next day. He was so nervous! He actually went through an EZpass lane! He actually went inside to make sure he had the ring still!! He explained everything to the guy!! I honestly did not expect to get engaged for another 6 months or a year he wanted to propose at my surprise 30th birthday party he actually ended up proposing 6 months to the day of my party! He had asked me to get up he gave me a kiss and told me he loved me(he was really nervous I think) and got down on his knee and asked me to marry him. I freaked out(I did say yes) But I was so in shock because he’s the only one who knows how to surprise me! I actually yanked the ring out of the box and all I kept saying was this is real? ( I knew the ring was real I was just shocked because he had proposed and I thought I was dreaming!) so yes I was shocked! We are getting married October 19 2019 which is 3 days before our actual anniversary October 22!!!

It was expected because I picked out my ring but I had no idea when it would happen! He proposed when we were on vacation in Hawaii. We were on a secluded beach/national park on the big island. It was so beautiful and secluded!

I was surprised, cuz just a few days I told him we should move on and get married, and he said that he didn't want to get hurt again, but on the 19th of may, we stopped at Walmart before we headed to our delivery, and he woke me up( we are truck drivers) and told me to go do my thing ,so I ran inside to use the bathroom, and got a few things then came back to the truck and there was a silver box on my seat...
So I open it up and saw the ring and he asked me to go spend the rest of my life with him and I said Yes!!

I was so suprised! We talked about it a lot so i knew eventually it would happen. I was not expecting it the way he did it though. We took a trip to Tennessee for his birthday. We went throught the zoo and went to the aquarium resturant where he proposed. Im so ready to start this new chapter of our life together

I was dating the "I'm Never getting married guy" who would go back and fourth about wanting to get married and never wanting to settle down.. so after 4 years of being a girlfriend I told him that I wanted more.. I wanted to be more then just a girlfriend. I love him very much, but, this is just something I wasn't willing to sacrifice. So, I told him that if he couldn't fully commit to me then I was going to move across the country to be closer to family. I didn't expect it so soon.. so I guess he did surprise me (after I gave him a little nudge in the right direction).

I knew it was coming, just didn’t know when. He made me a 400 picture photo album of when we first got together and ended with where we are now- pictures of us and our 18 month old son. The last page wall asked will you marry me with the ring in the middle. He added notes to certain pictures that were his favorite or a special memory.

Not surprised at all! We had talked about it since the previous fall and then designed a custom ring together. I didn't see the ring in person until he proposed and I knew what date it was going to happen just because it was the hike where we had our first kiss. The big surprise was he flew in my best friend who lives in another state to be there when it happened! I had no idea he was going to do that and it was the best surprise I could have asked for.

My Birthday Present

it was a complete surprise for me. I gave my bf a surprise party on 3/24/18. He said he was so blown over by his party because no one every gave him a bday party before. He said it was at that moment of walking into his party, he knew he wanted to marry me. He purchased my ring the Monday after his party, and proposed on 4/2/18 while we were on a cruise at a beach in Cozumel Mexico where we took our 1st vacation 2 years prior.

I had NO idea it was coming- He proposed on New Year's Eve, down in a wine cellar, private dining, and we were just goofing around having fun. He told me to chill on some comfy couches they had downstairs there, and I was posing, just having fun. Then he said "I think you're missing something..." (because I do not wear jewelry), got down on one knee, and I BURST into tears because I had no idea. I later learned that he had been creating my one of a kind ring with a local jeweler and he had such a hard time not telling me any part of the process because we really are BFF's and he thought the whole process was so cool, and really wanted me involved. Never saw it coming!

I honestly had absolutely no idea! My fiancé bought tickets for us to go see The Lion King on Broadway for Christmas! The theater was next door to Carmine’s and all I wanted to do was go there for dinner but he continually said no! He told me he was taking me to a local yesterday back home instead. So we got back on the train, and then headed home to freshen up before dinner. We go to the local restaurant, which is called Yesterday’s, and unfortunately when we arrived our table wasn’t ready (or so I thought). They sat us at the bar to wait for our table. A few minutes later my fiancé tells me that he needs to use the restroom. I sat at the bar by myself watching whatever was on the tv at the time. My fiancé returns and then it’s time for us to be seated. We’re taken into the back room and to my surprise my family is sitting around a table waiting for us! At first I was completely confused. I had no idea what was going on. I did figure something was up though because my brother was wearing jeans and he never does! But anyway, the waiter comes and asks us what we’d all like for dinner. While we waiting for our means, I see everyone start to get weird and look around at each other. I turned my head and to my surprise my fiancé was down on one knee! It was one of the best moments of my life and it couldn’t have happened around more amazing people. He really did a great job!

I knew it was coming at some point, because he took me ring shopping this past January. That's how he got my ring size and saw what i liked. I was completely surprised when he proposed, because I always thought he would do it privately (glad he didn't cuz then I would have known what was up), but he proposed at the Memorial Day cookout we were hosting (I planned it). He apparently had the ring since the beginning of May and decided part way through the cookout that he was going to propose. It was perfect.

I actually was super surprised, but I totally guessed exactly what my FH would do to propose. We had been together for 5 years when he proposed, so I guess I wasn't completely surprised. I had no idea the day he was going to ask on the day he asked, and I had no idea he was even thinking about proposing or marriage at that time. He took me on a hike close by his house and when we were headed back down we stopped at a scenic overlook and he was standing behind me and when I turned around he was down on one knee.

I was both expecting it and surprised at the same time. We had been planning on getting married after they graduated from Vet Med School (next spring - finally!) and they had said that since I love jewelry so much and I'm the super girly one of the two of us that they wanted to be the one to officially propose when it was time. Late spring/early summer 2016, they tried to be sneaky and get a string around my finger to measure it without me noticing - forgetting that I'm super sensitive so I felt it right away. After that they just asked me what my preferences for a stone were and what shade of gold I liked best, since I knew that they were at least thinking of buying a ring. Then in September they told me a package was coming that needed to be signed for but I couldnt open it and I knew right away what it was (especially since I got a "you said you liked... right" text a couple days before. They had designed the ring online with a jeweler and had it mailed. I got so excited when the postwoman got to the door with the box because I knew what it was, and she was excited to see it when I finally had it (but understood why I couldnt open it and show her then). From that point I was wondering when it was going to happen and dressing up extra special for every just us special event because they are really private so I figured it would be when we were alone but out somewhere special (they had also asked me if I would like something special and romantic planned vs an at home proposal and I had said I would rather not be in my PJs). My birthday and our anniversary came and went - both with romantic private dinners at a couple of our favorite restaurants and nothing. The next weekend we were going to a Comic Con and working our charity group's booth for most of the weekend so I was thinking it was going to wait another week until the hike we had planned just the two of us (which would have been fitting because we met working at a camp). So we went to the Con in matching costumes and had been talking to their dad about them and he asked us to send a picture so we stopped at the booth well before our shift that day to get someone to take pictures to send to him and after she took a couple, my fiancee said, "stay right here lets do one more" and moved away from me a little, I was thinking action pose but I couldnt see anything because I had a helmet on with a frosted visor. The friend taking the picture had to say to me "Ok got it" and I turned in the general direction of where my fiancee had been standing to see them on one knee holding something. I pulled my helmet off so fast I was so excited and so surprised that they would do it in front of all of our friends and everyone entering the Con and walking around (our booth was right by the main entrance) but it was so perfect and so us.

I had the feeling it was coming but the day it actually happened I was totally blind sided! He proposed to me on the second day of our vacation with my family in Cancun on the beach 😍 talk about dreamy!!

I asked him! It was kind of spur of the moment. I was having a crap day, like woke up crying from a terrible bad dream kind of day. Struggled through work then came home. He cheered me up by doing the most random stupid things to help lighten the mood. I decided right then and there that if he could take such a gloomy day and turn it around then he is someone I want to spend the rest of my life with.

I wasn't shocked as I had helped design the ring. However, I didn't think the ring was done yet. We were headed on a vacation and he had said just before we left that the ring still wasn't done. So while I knew it was coming and had originally thought he would do it while on vacation, I had no idea it was coming. So when he asked, I was completely surprised!
