Hey All, I was wondering if anyone had any advice on how you're getting in shape for your upcoming wedding, or if you are now married what did you do to feel extra confident in your dress?!
I absolutely love my dress, but since moving in with my FH, I've gained 8 pounds of happiness lol my dress is a trumpet/a-line hybrid. So not mega form fitting like a mermaid. Want to work on my abs and arms.
All advice is welcome!!
Thank you!
Melissa

Cut out most sugar and grease and go to gym 3-4 times a week or you can stay at home and look up ab workouts

I've been eating keto and working out since March. I lift most days of the week (10-50kg dumbbells), HIIT outside and workouts from Jillian Michaels' app. She has a 6 week program on there called Wedding Warrior that is really effective and fun. Since May, I've been working out in the am and pm and going for walks everyday. All my workouts are my fasted. Food wise, I eat lean meat, veggies like broccoli and cauliflower, some cheese, cooking/whipping cream, eggs, dark chocolate, do lots of baking and sweeten things with stevia. I usually eat 1-2 times per day. I have a thread on the forum with my results, it all has worked really well and just in time for my wedding Smiley smile

My advice is to hone in on your diet and getting moving. I don't think one really needs to track everything but if you feel it helps, MyFitnesspal is a free app that helps track food intake and exercise. Try to make things stress free.. pick a time of day to work out and stick to it if possible. Plan your workout or meals ahead of time. You can do this! Smiley smile

I’m doing keto, but I’m also doing BB 21 day fix. Love those workouts, they’re only 30 min each, and it’s always different somehow. Today was day 1 of week 3! 💪🏼💪🏼

I'm doing plain old situps and push-ups, twice a day. I started yesterday. Smiley tongue Yes, situps, not crunches; that's just what tends to work best for me. I also will alternate or add onto the situps with..... idk what they're called but I just call them "leg downs," with the legs in the air going down and back up, to work on lower abs, butt, thighs. My main concerns are also my stomach area and arms. I'm also back to actually taking half a second to observe what my body thinks it's about to eat. I know not to get too restrictive with food in our situation now--wedding, toddler, home buying, period literally the week before my wedding--but even just knowing I need to keep an eye on my eating habits typically does wonders for me, especially if I start holding myself accountable for my own BS by writing a list of the foods I've ingested.

    Good luck!

Cardio is super important when trying to lose weight along with diet obviously. But for toning most people don't realize you should still lose some weight. If you start doing abs to work on tummy all your doing is building muscle ON TOP of the shape you already have. Muscle will push out so you may look wider from the side if done incorrectly. Waist trainers are always a nice helper (DON'T be extreme about trying to shrink your waist multiple inches) but just to add a little shape to yourself they are great. Drink plenty of water and look into a thermogenic (it raises your body temp slightly which causes you to burn fat when you typically wouldn't. Also remember theres no such thing as targeted weight loss. If you want to tone your arms and abs change your diet and do cardio so you start losing extra weight (if there is any) and start with ritual workouts. Do splits : Monday do back and Bi's Tuesday do Calves and hammys, Wednesday do shoulders and tris Thursdays do quads and abs. Find something to works for you and stick to it. You got this!

I 100%%%%% agree with this! I absolutely love Beachbody on demand and have had tremendous success with it. I still have 10 more weeks to go and I hope to drop at least another 5-10 pounds which is totally doable with these programs

I am taking a group fitness class under the direction of a personal trainer. I can go up to 6 days a week and take as my classes as I want on a daily basis. Each class is an hour and is different as he changes up what we do each day. We do weights, cardio, ab work, as well as outdoor sessions that involve an wicked hill. OMG!! I am currently going 3 to 4 times a week. My diet is heavy on proteins and veggies, TONS of water, and citrus fruits. I try to stay away from sugar and carbs. I started this program at the end of April and am down 15 lbs and counting.

Thank you soo much!! So since I live a good 20 mins from a gym, I'm doing Pop pilates by Cassy Ho. Her free courses bless her! I've also been taking a thermogenic supplement from It Works called, Thermofight X. My fiance and I were doing a semi strict keto, and I managed to get from 143 to 135, which made my day, my goal is to drop at least 5 pounds before I get my dress altered in Aug. I'm just worried when it gets pulled up ect, it might fit wierd.

My park district gym offers Les Mills BodyPump. Except the classes are 20 extra a month. It has taken me 6 months to lose 16 pounds. I just started doing weight training, but I have very bad acid reflux and it starts to flare up when I do a lot of up and down movements. Is LesMills an intense workout or can beginners handle it?

Some of them can be intense, but there are always easier options offered by the instructors.
The thing about BodyPump is that there are a lot of repetitions. It’s low weight, high repetition. That’s how you build muscle quickly. There are 8 active tracks per workout-Warmup, squats, back, triceps, biceps, legs/lunges, shoulders, abs and a cool-down. You can always modify by only doing the 1st half of the class or by sitting out tracks that are too intense for you. They also have GRIT, Body Combat, Body Attack, Barre, yoga and some others. I use Les Mills On Demand and work out at home. It’s $12.99/month.
