Sweet and Salty Bar (opinions needed)

Mr. & Mrs. H, on July 15, 2014 at 12:34 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 16

I need some opinions ladies Smiley smile My fiancé and I both love candy~ especially sweet and salty things. He loves puppy chow and chex mix and caramel chex mix! Between my large family and I we can definitely make all of the puppy chow and chex mix and caramel chex mix. I also would like to have a couple sweets~

What do you guys think about that?

Love it! We are having a trail mix bar so ours will be similar. Pretzels, white chocolate pretzels, lots of nuts, chex mix, mini marshmallows, etc..

I am doing something similar!! I love salty, FH loves sweet. I think it's great! (I can be totally cheesy, since I'm having a beach wedding, I'm planning to have a sign that says something like "The ocean is salty, Love is sweet, Grab yourself a midnight treat")

That sounds wonderful...I often wish there were options besides sweets at weddings.

@beachbride, that is such a cute idea for a sign!

First off I love the idea! Heres is the recipe for Really Tasty Sweet and Salty Chocolate Peanut Butter Cookies...You take a ritz cracker (salty) and put peanut butter on it and sandwich it in between another ritz cracker. Then you take that sandwich and roll (or kinda flip) it in melted chocolate (sweet) (I use Almond Bark Milk Chocolate) then you let them dry on wax paper about 30 mins. To add a touch of class put the drizzle in the opposite flavor chocolate (White/Milk/Dark)

^^When I was a kid, my parent's neighbors would make those every Christmas and give us a plate. They are sooo good!

@Nayla-OMG.. those look so yummy!! My FH says a man can live on peanut butter alone...add chocolate and he's in heaven! I'll have to make those for him-but after our wedding.

    Nayla I love those!

Hoefler- there is nothing better than chocolate pretzels for a person who loves sweet and salty! Another good treat is popcorn drizzled with chocolate. We had a popcorn bar at an event for work and we had one with kettle corn, dark chocolate and a little bit of chili powder. It was amazing!

That sounds awesome! I would try to vary the flavors you're offering and maybe even the textures too (chewy, crunchy, soft).
