Sweetheart or Head Table?

Lynnie, on June 4, 2019 at 11:44 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 208

What's your seating style? Will you be sitting at sweetheart table just for two? Or will you sit with your whole bridal party at a head table?

I am 100% against a head table.....unless you are in your early 20's. I think it is just awful to force people to sit away from their spouses and children. Therefore, I am team sweet heart table all the way!

Same! Sweetheart table is a nice way to share a semi private moment with you're new spouse.

We’re doing a hybrid. It’s just gonna be me and FH, best man and his wife, and my sister(MOH) and her boyfriend. Everyone else will be seated at Tables 1 & 2 with their SO’s and family.

*My sister has a son, but he won't be at the wedding and the best man and his wife have a baby girl, but she will also not be at the wedding. I would never make someone sit away from their spouses or children. That is so rude!*

Sweetheart table. Our table is on a riser with columns so I think it'll feel very intimate and romantic; even though we'll still surrounded by our friends and family.

Head table. Mainly due to the fact that is the only way to accommodate the number of guests and tables we need in our ballroom. They also don't have enough round tables to do a sweetheart table with the amount of guests we have. I have enough stuff to bring in so I will not be adding a table to that list lol

    Exactly!

Also, I went to a wedding where there was a head table and one of the bridesmaids brought her three children (14 months, 8 years, and 10 years) and they were seated at the same table as me and my fiancé, his brother and his girlfriend, and the 14 month old’s father (he’s also my fiancé’s brother and the two other children were not his biologically) The baby’s daddy had a hard time controlling the two children that were not his biologically and they asked us very personal questions throughout the entire dinner and were very obnoxious and rude. It was not a pleasant experience! It was awkward. So yeah... wedding party needs to be sat with their families. Lol

Sweetheart table all the way! Three of my four bridesmaids are married or married with children. I want everyone to feel comfortable and having a good time at our wedding, not missing their significant other while they eat

    Sweetheart!

I have a few guests who don’t know anyone except for people in the bridal party and I don’t believe it would be fair to make them sit all alone and uncomfortable.

We are having a sweetheart table. I don't agree with the whole idea of a head table.

Yeah, my FH was best man at his brother's wedding. They did a head table (they are in their upper 30's with no kids, so they don't understand family needs). Therefore, I had to sit alone with our children and it was just a horrible experience all around.

We did a King table! The wedding party and their dates all sat with us. I think it is incredibly rude to separate people from their dates at a wedding.

Sweetheart table. Besides our daughter and my little sister who is the junior bridesmaid our attendants are married so we will let them sit with their spouses. They are all family and will sit at a reserved table next to us anyway.

We are actually doing a kings table because we have a small enough WP, so we will still be with our WP but they wont be separate from their significant others
