Sweetheart Table or Head Table?

Which seating arrangement are you choosing for your wedding: a sweetheart table (just you and your new spouse) or a head table (you, your new spouse, and wedding party members)? Or maybe even a different option altogether? Share what you're choosing for your reception seating arrangements!

I think sweetheart because if you need to talk to your husband it's like a little oasis in a sea of people that just want to be near you lol

We are doing a sweetheart table so that our wedding party will be able to sit amongst their spouses. Plus we want to get the opportunity to take a brief moment during dinner and take it all in.

We're going with a sweetheart table! Keeping it cozy with just us two sounds perfect.

We are doing a sweetheart table! We wanted our bridal party to sit and enjoy time with their plus ones. Plus, we could have a little time to ourselves to enjoy the moment.

We've chosen to have a head table. We discussed the sweetheart table but decided against it; it gives an alienated feeling.

We are doing a kings table! We don’t have a wedding party, so we are having one giant table for us and our close family (it will seat 20). It will be right in the middle of the room so we can still mingle, but we will be at the head of it. The rest of our guests tables will seat 6-10. We thought it was something different without being too crazy!

We're having a head table with our matron of honor, her husband, best man, his wife and a few key family members. Did not want to do a "sweetheart table" as we felt that was a bit awkward and thought too many people might come up and interrupt us as we sat alone - also not sure where we would put that table given our lunch set up.

I can see how a head table is more inclusive of your wedding party! It also doesn't isolate the couple getting married from their guests. Are you including the wedding party's plus ones at the head table? Or will they be seated among the rest of the guests?

WOW, that's a lot of people in the wedding party! I agree that a sweetheart table would probably be the best option in that scenario.

I had the same thought. My husband and I had a sweetheart table, and then we seated the wedding party with their plus ones at tables among the rest of our guests.

We are doing a sweetheart table because I want the members of our wedding party to be able to sit with their spouses/significant others. There will be a bridesmaid's table and a groomsmen’s table.

We are doing a sweetheart table. Even though we are only having 100 guests, I think that it will be important for us to steal a couple of moments alone. I think that otherwise, family and friends will keep us apart the entire evening.
