Swimout room: Is it worth it?

givemetheD, on March 2, 2017 at 3:23 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 78

Hi Again! Some of you may have seen my recent posts regarding honeymoon stuff and here I am again with another question. I'm trying to decide if we should get a room with a swimout pool or not. FH had been absolutely no help with this decision! The price difference is $270 total for 5 nights. It looks romantic and part of me wants to splurge but the other part of me thinks what if we don't use it as much as I think we will between excursions and sitting on the beach. Have any of you had a room with a swimout pool? Did you feel like it was worth it or wish you would've spent that money elsewhere? Did you not get one and wish you would have? Any input would be helpful. I promise no more honeymoon questions after this lol ETA: The room does include a jacuzzi as well. The pool closes at 8pm

It'd be the bottom level leading into the pool from our suite or the second floor with the balcony only

I was thinking about this too. The only thing I might consider is would there be a lot of noise from the neighboring pools.

It depends on where you're going. When we went to Cabo in June 2015 we couldn't go to the beach because the waters were still too rough and it dropped about 6 feet right at the shore after the break. I would splurge for the pool! It would be nice.

Is it 24 hours or can you only go out at certain times? Night swims are relaxing.

    ETA: spelling

    I agree, splurge!

ETA: I use to be a lifeguard, so I'm a bit bias. Night swimming is the best!

We saw similar rooms when we were in mexico. (Didnt stay in one) I feel the only time we would use it would be for a quick night swim, but the ones we saw had more privacy. Each one had a wall separating each rooms section of the pool out to a certain point then became all one.

$270 for the whole trip doesnt sound bad at all. If it was an extra $270 a night I would say hell no lol

We decided to splurge on a swim out room for our honeymoon. We don't take a lot of big trips and we are doing a regular room at the resort where our wedding is being held the week before. We decided our honeymoon week was worth the extra.

If it's the picture you showed- that would be a definite "DO".

    I would love that.

@LMAC - I'm thinking during the day we'd be on the beach or doing some sort of excursion but I was thinking it'd be nice at night or if there is a day or two we're feeling worn and just want to relax in the room. We live CO and neither of us have been out of country or to the beach (I went when I was 8 but I don't think it counts anymore lol)

@Amanda- I asked our travel agent about the noise and she's said this particular pool doesn't really get busy. There are multiple on the property open to all guests and this one is geared more towards the people in the rooms

@FaithD - Our travel agent said everyone has to be out of the pool at 8pm but we'd still be allowed to sit on the side from our room with our feet I drinking wine Smiley smile

    @JJ - It's $270 total and we'll be there 5 nights

At hotels I've been to like that I've never seen anyone actually use it. Also doesn't look that private to me. Personally I wouldn't want other people swimming right by my room.

$270 for the whole trip? Yes, I'd do it. It'd be nice to take a quick dip first thing in the morning or before bed or anytime!
