Swimout room: Is it worth it?

Hi Again! Some of you may have seen my recent posts regarding honeymoon stuff and here I am again with another question. I'm trying to decide if we should get a room with a swimout pool or not. FH had been absolutely no help with this decision! The price difference is $270 total for 5 nights. It...

Hi Again! Some of you may have seen my recent posts regarding honeymoon stuff and here I am again with another question. I'm trying to decide if we should get a room with a swimout pool or not. FH had been absolutely no help with this decision! The price difference is $270 total for 5 nights. It looks romantic and part of me wants to splurge but the other part of me thinks what if we don't use it as much as I think we will between excursions and sitting on the beach. Have any of you had a room with a swimout pool? Did you feel like it was worth it or wish you would've spent that money elsewhere? Did you not get one and wish you would have? Any input would be helpful. I promise no more honeymoon questions after this lol ETA: The room does include a jacuzzi as well. The pool closes at 8pm

    At first glance my answer was a hell fu**ing yes. However, looking at the pic I now say hell no.

    I would not want to relinquish all privacy with all the guest at the pool. Consider the noise too.

    I have never really gotten the point of these, sorry. When we go to the pool or beach we bring our bag with towels, and phones, sunscreen, books and all the other goodies for relaxing at the pool. Not sure how we would get it all from point a to b. We like the music and the atmosphere and the bar lol at the pools.

    Stayed at a sandals in Jamaica and our room came with its own "plunge pool". I think we went in once. Sat there looking at each other and packed up and went to main pool.

    Get it!!!! That's not a lot of price difference for 5 nights. You only get your honeymoon once!

    Glad you got it, I absolutely would have done the swim up without two seconds thought for that price. That's incredible! You guys will have so much fun! The only other thing I would check is that it comes with a loaded mini bar in room. If you go to your swim up pool you won't have the pool bar in your pool and you can't have a dry honeymoon! (Jk you totally can but that's my motto for myself haha and something I would make sure of)

    We had a room like this in Cancun. We barely used it, but it was nice to have when the main pool was too crowded. Its very nice to have to go in and be somewhat just the two of you, even though your neighbors may also be using their area. I say get it Smiley smile

    @sunflower17 I was torn between Cap Cana or Akumal but I knew it looked familiar lol. You will love it!! Akumal was the only one I was lucky enough to get the swim-out room (for work purposes I go to the resorts part of the chain). Akumal was one of my favorites. Just some advice bring a lot of bug spray and have a lot of fun!

    @StephanieN - thanks for the input, it's great to hear from someone that's been to the exact place. Especially since we had such a hard time picking a place. Do you know how the weather is in October? I've been told to expect some rain. I'm just hoping it's not down pour for our entire trip
