Switching tracks; traditional/micro to elopement

Sky, on February 5, 2024 at 2:19 AM Posted in Planning 0 1
Hey all! For the last few months I've been planning and envisioning a much more traditional wedding, still under 50 guests but really formal and all. I've realized recently that an elopement followed by a mailed wedding announcement (family's scattered) would fit our needs, desires, and wallet much better than that traditional wedding.
Problem is, now I have no idea where to start! No idea on venue, or after-celebration, or pretty much any other portion of planning. Advice would be immensely appreciated!

So far, I know this: Photographer is definitely super important to me in this new instance. We still might bring a couple of people each, but that's so much easier to plan for than 30-40. Cake can be much less elaborate. Stationary choices also become extra critical.

An elopement really is just for the two of you. If you're having guests/witnesses it might be fun to do the ceremony and then treat everyone to a nice dinner at a favourite restaurant then back home for cake?
