Table Cloths

Desiree, on April 15, 2011 at 5:00 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 12

Hey everyone. I am on a really low budget Smiley smile (aren't we all?) I really need to find some tablecloths that don't break the bank. We keep going back to the idea of paper or plastic but it makes me cringe. I am even open to creative ideas for table coverings. My wedding is outside and really rustic. The tables are 8ft rectangular. Any ideas?

We also got ours at linentablecloth.com. I couldn't find any cheaper either. When you say rustic do you mean western... cabin/lodge... medieval?

Im going to be outside in a rustic setting also. My best advice is to check clearance sales at your local stores. They advertise when things go on sale but not nessesarily on liquidation. I saw beautiful red tablecloths at Walmart for $4 each in your size..however I live in WI. Try getting them in two or three of your wedding colors instead of one sole color. It makes them easier to find and looks great in pics. Another idea is to go to a sewing store and buy clearance fabric. Its easy to find a lot in white. Make sure you have enough for all your tables! You can go simpler with the tablecloths and then it will bring out your center pieces so much more, or your placemats if you have any. Good luck!

Arielle's advice is a good one. Check out Bed Bath and Beyond's online clearange. Large table cloths can be purchased for as low as $4.99. I bought several for different tables throughout our inn. Also, I bought my floor lenght cloths on Ebay.

Since it is an outdoor wedding, someone once suggested using burlap to cover the tables. Or, going to an inexpensive fabric store and buying random fabrics and cut them to your table size.

    Good luck.

I was going to suggest hobby lobby they usually have major sales on fabric and if you have or know someone that can sew up the edges so they dont fringe...

Thanks for all the advice guys!

Rustic as in..log cabin in the woods rustic.

So I think we are going to attempt to buy sheets and cut them in half and hem. My fiances mom seems to think it might work. I think it might actually be kinda cool and it will bring us to about $4.50 a table. We will see! haha

How many tables do you need to cover? Also what is your budget for table cloths?

I am buying the material at Hobby Lobby and making mine (with the help from sister). We are making about 20 and it is going to cost less then $100.
