Table Decor Help

Victoria, on June 22, 2021 at 6:30 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 5
Hello! I have a few decor questions for the group. I do not have an eye for colors, textures, fabric, or anything creative. 🤣 I’m having a small ceremony/reception next month or so with 15 people. We are setting up two lifetime 6’ folding tables and 6 lifetime white folding chairs along with my dining table (where food will be served buffet line style) and dining chairs so already I’m not matching. I purchased ivory floor length tablecloths, gold chargers, strands of greenery, gold voltive candles and other kinds of candle holders from another bride and was thinking about what to put on top of the tables. I like the idea of doing a lighttttt blue chiffon or gauze table runner and placing the greenery and candles over it. Any opinions on chiffon vs gauze? I’m having the most trouble finding chiffon runners over 6ft. Are gauze runners ugly and wrinkly? Also, since my chairs don’t match, should I cover them or put a sash on them or just leave them alone?

I also have a buffet table that I don’t really want to cover with a tablecloth as it’s not that big. I was thinking about putting a gold sequins overlay on it as my cake will be going on there. Is that too much? Thoughts?
Thanks!

I think the gauze looks nice! I don't personally think it looks ugly! It IS wrinkly, but that's kind of the vibe it has going for it - you either like that vibe or you don't, so I guess it depends on the overall feel you want the day to have.

You could always look up cheesecloth as another option, if you like gauze but aren't sure. It's a softer, more earthy vibe to my mind.

I think your plans sound pretty, and I don't think you need a tablecloth on the buffet table.

I personally love the gauze runner look, it's what I chose for our sweetheart table! With candle sticks and a garland as well. But it all sounds really pretty!

I think the gauze and the sequin runner would be the perfect final décor touches!! 💖

And I wouldn't worry about the mismatched chairs - if anything I think chair sashes could draw more attention to them!

I like gauze runners, but if you have greenery and votive candles that may be enough without the runners. I like runners better when they are on bare tabletops and don't like the fabric on fabric look as much. I also think gauze might look a bit haggard if placed over a tablecloth of a different fabric vs being directly on top of a nice wood tabletop. As much as I like the wrinkled aesthetic of gauze, I feel like chiffon would be a better choice for fabric layering.
