Table decor

Andrea, on March 25, 2021 at 8:39 AM Posted in Style and Décor 0 7
This picture is of my bridesmaids dress(desert coral), my dress, and the suits. I will be having white farm tables with loose greenery and candles. Should I do a runner? I was thinking of diy cheesecloth to a Sedona (David’s bridal) color or is that too much, would blue look better?Table decor 1

    Dear Andrea,

Our colors are white, celadon and a touch of blush and gold. We have dark wood farmhouse tables, and will be doing an ivory "burlap," (made from cotton) runner for our rectangular tables that hang about two feet off of the table in either direction. Once you know your measurements, I would definitely check Etsy out. You can compare and customize different colors and fabrics with most retailers through there!

Since your tables are already white, I would suggest using an accent color for the runner (where I used out main, white/ivory), like the Sedona. Having said that, with beautiful farmhouse tables, you don't need a runner, just centerpiece decorations. However, if it's going to be a seated dinner people may expect a runner or at least foliage that runs down the table in place of it. Since you're already planning on adding flowers, etc. to the table, I would try and put that "runner money" towards pretty and practical place mats for guests instead; that's if you're having a seated dinner.

I'm not having a seated dinner, but providing 30 places for people to sit and eat (at the rectangular tables) apart from our lounge furniture, so I mainly just focused on the runners and centerpieces. One suggestion I would make regarding the Sedona, is that it's very close in color to your bridesmaid's dresses already, just seems a few shades darker. If you're going for something dark and bold against the white tables, going towards the red spectrum can make it seem a bit "Valentines Day-ish," and will pop quite a bit. I, personally would suggest going for something lighter than the brisemaid's dresses if you have mostly white or cream flowers. You could even go for a blue or even a light grey shade as it'll still pop on the white table, but may make it a bit more romantic, rather than box-office. It would kind of "lighten" it up.

Again, I'm not sure what you're planning for the rest of the table so take my suggestions with a grain of salt. I'm sure that whatever you chose will be beautiful and I'm excited for an update in the future!

I think either option would be fine. I, personally, love the clean, minimal look of just the greenery. My real reason for commenting though was just to tell you that your dress is absolutely gorgeous!

I wouldn't add a runner! I think the white tables would make the greenery pop more!

I agree with Shelly. The greenery will look so good against the white wood of the tables.

Thank you. We plan to either do pillar candles and or taper candles with votives as well.
