Table Linens

Kris, on May 20, 2020 at 10:20 AM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 10
For the reception, did you guys use white linens or linens in your wedding colors? Our caterer has white for $4/table, or black/purple for $8/table. Black and purple are our wedding colors, but I'm worried about it being too dark.

We did white table clothes with navy napkins for dinner. During cocktail hour, our cocktail tables had navy table cloths, as well as our cake and dessert table. Navy was one of our wedding colors.

We used white linens with alternating burgundy and navy runners and navy napkins.

We did velvet runners in a dark teal for the farm tables and black table clothes for the round tables.

We decided to rent/buy nicer linens than the venue offered because I had a vision in mind, but I don’t think guests really notice or care.

My moh used all black tablecloths and it was gorgeous! Definitely not too dark, it looked elegant. I used red for my tables and it looked stunning as well. Set the room off.

We did white table cloths and white napkins. We liked the cleaner look of it than colored ones (and all of it was included regardless of color, so price wasn't an issue). We had the flower centerpieces be the draw.

My colors were blush and mint. i did white table cloths and mint napkins. initially i thought of rotating every other table as a different table cloth color but that was too much work aha and also blush or mint as a table cloth color felt super overwhelming.

I went with the ivory ones our caterer offered for the lower price and played up the colors in the centerpieces Smiley smile

I think your venue plays a role here. If you're having an outside reception at night, then the environment may already be darker and dark tables won't stick out. But in a well-lit ballroom with white walls, dark tables will stand out and look really elegant. Maybe consider your venue to help you decide!
