Table runner dimensions

TeamAndre, on February 12, 2015 at 12:02 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 4

So we are having table runners made for the reception. Our reception tables are round 72 inch tables. The venue says that most table runners are 120 inches long and 12 inches wide. FH thinks that they should be a little wider than 12 inches. Our centerpieces are pretty eye-catching, so I don't want there to be an overwhelming amount of other "stuff" on the table. Has anyone found any references for how to decide the width or any suggestions based on what they have done/are planning to do?

Well, 12" inches wide is the norm, and it is pretty wide so I think you will be ok. Here's a pic for reference.

This is the website I will be using for our table runners ( http://www.sewmamasew.com/2010/02/fabric-yardage-for-wedding-table-runners-and-napkins/ ). I plan on going with the narrow runners at the suggested 13.5" finished width for our 60" round tables. I know I have seen standard runners at 14" and 17" in width as well if that is more up your alley.

If you go to Pinterest and search 'wedding table runners for round tables' there are a bunch of photos with different width runners. Maybe that will help you decide.

Thank you everyone. We decided on a width of 18 inches. I will post pictures when they are complete.
