There’s really no hard rule on what you “need” for table settings. Except maybe plates, glasses, napkins and utensils.


Runners are if you feel like being extra fancy. Tablecloth is enough.

You don't need table runners. To be honest, I can't even remember if I had table runners lol (the venue was a country club and they included all that stuff so other than picking colors, I didn't spend too much time thinking about tablescapes).

If you can get a couple of runners like Natalie recommended for such a great deal why not?
