Originally FI and I will be doing Table seating, but the guest can pick whatever seat they want at the table (8 to a table). We have an even number of 200 on the guest list (this includes plus 1s) I know not everyone will showup. I'm indecisive on whether or not I even want to do this. I think it's just one more thing I have to worry about. We're all grown there isn't a reason why they can seat themselves. I'm afraid that not each table will be filled up correctly though.

For ladies with large guest lists what are you doing/did you do?

Edited: This is for the reception, not the ceremony!

I'm still pretty up in the air about seating... We have 250-275 guest & the only reason that i am considering assigning seats is b/c i need to make sure that those who RSVP'd have a seat first. We are going a wedding party table that will seat them & there spouses and reserved table for parents & grandparents, but i am afraid that ppl that did rsvp won't have a seat & those who didnt will... I only have 11 days left! Gotta decide...

While mine is a small wedding/ceremony - only around 55 o 60 people - I am still going to do table seating. This way I can get members of both our families to sit together and get to know one another, coworkers can sit together and people who have something in common I can put together. We also are doing a buffet but I think that at least assigning people a table will help cut down on people wandering around trying to decide which table to sit at.

I am doing a seating chart. I'm having 130 max. I've been to one wedding that had it and I was so thankful! It was MUCH easier to find my seat, than look around for an empty space big enough for everyone in our group to sit at, etc.

We have about 200 and we are doing a seating chart. However, we went to a wedding this past weekend and they gave us a table number (escort cards) and that was it. We got to choose our seats, which was nice.. so I am considering this now.
