Tablecloths! How long?

Michelle, on March 11, 2017 at 2:34 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 4

Opinions, please - how long for tablecloths? Floor length, or lap length (15" drop)? I feel like floor length is more formal and elegant, but more likely to get in the way, tripped on, pulled, etc. We're doing a more casual buffet reception, outside. Is there a standard rule of thumb, or just preference?

We are doing the same casual buffet outdoors. We went with 90" round on 60" tables so they fell to right about the top of the seat. I was too worried about guests getting tripped up and them getting pulled. Hope that helps!

I think it really is preference as to your taste. You can use square table cloths on round tables and it looks elegant at a lap length. Or the floor length just touching instead of pooling on the ground. It all depends on the look you are going for. I wouldn't worry about tripping etc. Here is a pic of the square on a round table, if you are concerned about tripping.
