TACKY OR NOT???? Spring wedding with snow

The venue I am having my reception at stated to me that they have a snow machine and asked if I wanted to use it (small extra fee, for cleaning up). My only concern is will it be tacky? We would only use it for a last dance and exit. The snow machine is in the ceiling. What are y'all thoughts?

I wouldn't do snow....seems very strange and I would be nervous about people getting wet and it staining things.

Yea I wouldn't think it was tacky but i would think it was strange. My husband really wanted this too but i refused. We had a summer wedding so it made absolutely no sense.

I didn't see that one Centerpiece. He has a budget. We were asked for a quote for one of the shows. The amount they had to work with was low. Really, really low. I assume that is because it should work like advertising?

Anyway, I still have to wonder why anyone thinks that putting a snow machine inside a venue is a great idea. Keep in mind that I love snow and I still don't get it.

I don't like snow in the winter, never mind in May when there's suppose to be flowers blooming. LOL

Tacky and completely odd for a springtime wedding.

Fake snow is always a no go in my book.

Not a good idea! You're getting married in May, so everything is in bloom. Work with that, which will be far more gorgeous than fake snow.

It may be fun if you were getting married in the winter but I would pass for spring, it would be a little od I think.

I'm not sure of the specifics as far as My Fair Wedding is concerned, but I do know that those weddings, according to Tutera, reflect hundreds of thousands ($500K, if I recall correctly) in products, venues, and vendors. If the average bride is able to secure that kind of wedding, but she has to give MFW her $20K budget, then, for all intents and purposes, she's budgetless. Also, everything I've read about the show says that if you are selected, it is free. Many of those vendors are donating their products and services because Tutera is a huge advertising billboard. They write off the cost as advertising expenses.
