Tailor, tone, use some sort of anti-chafe?

Gwendolyn, on February 27, 2020 at 5:50 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 7

Hi all!

So I have been working on losing some weight just so the dress isn't so snug (it fits, but I would like a little more room). I've gotten to where I can finally pull it up and down, yay! However, the seam along the arms where the illusion back is cuts into my back when I move my arms back. I'm trying to tone more, but barring this, is this something tailor-able? Would it be better to use some sort of anti-chafe to rub on the edge? Help!

It is tight around there but the only thing about toning which is helpful, pending your body type you could get bigger around there due to muscle. I am not sure if that fabric can be but I do not see why not. I would contact a seamstress. The dress if beautiful and it does look nice on you. I am working on toning my upper back too so I do get ya. Smiley smile

I don't have any helpful advice, but I love your dress! I'm sure you will find a great option. I would go with tailoring. Best of luck.

Not sure if it will work for that but bodyglide is a good anti chafe. Maybe they can loosen it a little that will get uncomfortable quick

Bodyglide is what I was thinking - I wasn't sure if anyone had ever tried it before. I'm definitely going to see what the seamstress can do. Smiley smile

I think that's going to be the best route too, hopefully they can do something. Smiley smile And thank you!! I love it so much.

That's a really good point! I've done a lot of toning already since that picture even, and it's still pretty snug around that area. So while it may look nicer, I think you are right that the muscle may keep it the same size. I'll be starting my search for a seamstress next month. Smiley smile And thank you so much! I feel awesome in it! GL on your toning up too!
