Oh, and Louisiana weddings don't really have cocktail hour or formal dinner, so this would just be a shot on the way to the dance floor and buffet. And my friends are all pretty . . . festive. So I think this would play well. Just a matter of the venue at this point.

@FMD, it's going to be SO FUN. We're going to play 90s hip hop all night, and dance our butts off and eat John Folse's cajun food. Trying to avoid things that detract from the party, like too many posed photos that keep us away from our peeps. I'm all about the candids, anyway, especially with our group. ;-) My aunt and uncle are already fighting over who has to be DD. I'm like, "dudes, you live down the street, just take an Uber."

We did the champagne arrival & then served these at cocktail hour. We told them to go heavy on the tequila. Everyone loved them, even the non drinkers, and no one was drunk at dinner, but our dance floor sure was full!

I don't necessarily think you need it, but my people would think I lost my mind if I didn't have it. For almost 10 years, I have been the host of our big 2-week Mardi Gras party (took full advantage of living on the parade route) (just moved to FH's house and now I'm SAD). So they would be like, "um, are you pregnant or something? And punishing us for that?" ;-)

I'm doing a very Mexican themed wedding (FH is Mexican and I love the culture-very loving, welcoming, and beautiful). I really wanted to do something like this! But I worry that a child would get into it??

I've never been to Mardi Gras in Nola, so this next year will be my first time! So excited LynZLeigh. We're thinking of going to the Zulu Ball also
