Tall Brides: Shoe suggestions please!!!

Kesha, on August 9, 2012 at 1:17 AM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 13

I need help finding some cute low heeled shoes! I'm 5'9 and it's not very often that I wear heels less than 3 inches, so I'm having a hard time accepting the fact that I can't wear sexy shoes with my dress. I finally found low heeled shoes that I like (pic below) with 2 5/8 inch heel but I tried on my shoes with my dress yesterday & they make the dress too short. If I wear flats the dress will have to be taken up. Bummer! Please let me know where I can find a pretty low heeled shoe. Thanks

I am 5'11 and wearing flats, but suggestions for shoes would be DEB, Charlotte Russe or payless, they all sell large sizes. I wear size 11 so just finding my size is a battle

Have you thought about maybe your FH wearing an insert in his shoes to lift him up a bit?

I am 5 11 and I wore flats, granted I had a beach wedding so I found some blinged out flip flops from Kohls. But for my reception I wore a short dress with 1 inch heels with a T strap I bought at 6pm.com for less than $25. All in all for both pairs of shoes I paid $35

I had the hardest time finding ones that I liked and I needed off white. I really wanted peep toe flats but they were too pricey for me. go to this website for a great selection:

Why not wear heels?? My sister is 5' 10" and she rocks her stilettos like its 1999! Her husband is 6' 3" and sometimes she's taller than him in her heels.

Is your FH super short?? I mean it's not like people don't know how tall he is...

Be you!! If you feel comfortable in your heels, then wear your heels. The only one I'd be concerned about is FH. You want him to love your look but if he doesn't have an issue...STRUT!

What heel height do you need to make the dress length correct?

I needed a low heel because FH is only an inch taller than me. I bought mine at dyeableshoestore.com and they were great. Wonderful customer service, quick, and exactly what it looks like online. I was super nervous ordering online but it was a really good experience.

I also found a blue pair at Nordstrom Rack that I might wear for the ceremony.

    Good Luck!!

I'm 6' and FH is 5'9" on a good day. I'm wearing flats that my MOH found at Kohl's on a lucky day but found some great vendors on Etsy who could do anything from a 1/2" heel to a 5" heel!

I'm 5'9 & FH is 6' feet. I don't mind being the same height on our wedding day, I just don't want my dress to not touch the ground. I found a lower pair of heels today. I go for my second fitting tomorrow so we'll see how these shoes work.

I would check out Zappos.com. I have shoe issues all the time b/c I have edema on my right foot, so not only do I already wear a size 10 but then I have to deal w/ a swollen "fat" foot! Plus I am 5'8, my fiance is 5'11 & my dad is 5'9 so I didn't want to be taller than them. I love the shoes I bought shoes on Zappos! I'd give them a look anyway.. their return policy is great too, 365 days!

BTW: I'm kinda new at Wedding Wire.. what does "DH" stand for? I need a list of abbreviations! LOL
