Tall, low, or mixed centerpieces?

In the past I've always loved tall centerpieces - I think they can be dramatic (in a good way) and they can really transform a room. I thought I had decided that I wanted a mix of tall and short floral centerpieces, to give the room dimension and save a teensy-tiny bit of money over doing them all...

Now i'm starting to change my mind in favor of all low centerpieces....what do you guys think?

It all depends on the look you are going for and your budget...no matter what, it's going to look wonderful Smiley smile

Drop it low girl, drop it, drop it low lol

I prefer low centerpieces. I like clear site lines for conversation.

I really like the look of tall centerpieces, but we are doing low centerpieces for financial reasons.

I like them all honestly in different ways. i like tall when the centerpieces are very lush/full. The smaller tall ones don't have the same effect IMO so in which case I would keep them short. But I do like the dimensions of some short and some tall and lush. As far as talking to ppl at the table, i'm not sure its cultural but weddings I attend tend to me more social (I never get the have a seating chart bc I need to talk to someone I know post) we literally get up and move around, there are very few ppl who sit in their seat the entire reception. So that never bothered me. But then again having seating charts are kind of frown upon, so any thing regarding being able to talk isn't really an issue.

We are doing half tall and half short. I have made both myself. I feel like the tall ones make the environment feel better (I don't know why, just looks better) but I didn't want too much tall so did both. Here's a pick of both of mine

I like mixed. We went with low as the taller ones added in just weren't in the budget.

We're doing half tall and half short. We're using thin clear vases and branches. The hydrangeas and roses will only be at the top, above the view of guests, so they can still talk and see!

Short - nothing makes me more mad than not being able to talk to people sitting at my table.

Also I have been at a wedding where the couple came to each table and wanted pictures and we had to move their huge centerpiece to do it.

I like a mixture of the two. I love your third inspiration photo. It will give some visual contrast and it would be tall enough to not get in the way.

We're doing a mixture of two tall trees for the long table and a mixture of lower centerpieces.

If you get tall, I agree you might want to make sure your guests can see and talk to each other. One wedding I went to had beautiful high centerpieces but almost every table put them on the floor because they were right at eye level. I was shocked that people took the liberty of moving the centerpieces the bride and groom had chosen, but that was the moment I decided to go for low ones!

I liked both, so I had both lol. I love a full, lush low centerpiece but I also love the drama of a tall one. I think the key is having one that's tall enough (and thin) so it doesn't block your vision.

I prefer low centerpieces. I just think it looks much more clean and elegant. And, as others mentioned, it doesn't block your view.

Low. Even if you have it tall enough, there's still a vase/branch/whatever in view.

I find it difficult to talk across tables at weddings anyway, especially if they have 10 people on them, so I am less concerned with having tall centerpieces blocking people's access to each other. I find tall better than mid-height. I personally really love tall centerpieces, but think a lot of it depends on the room. Our venue has really high ceilings and low centerpieces just won't look right.
