Tampa Area Wedding Night Hotels

Private User, on September 27, 2015 at 10:55 AM Posted in Honeymoon 0 6

Hello! My fiance and I plan on eloping in the Tampa area and have been looking for a romantic hotel for our wedding night. The only thing I have found is beachy, slightly cheesy hotels. We're looking for something more like the Driskill Hotel in Austin. Any suggestions?

The Westin on the Courtney Campbell Causeway is gorgeous.. it's right on the water but not at all beachy! We've had a few stay-cations there and love it!

A lot of Tampa's old world charm has faded or is just now coming back with developers creating beautiful restorations of existing hotels or building into our old buildings.

Le Meridian in downtown Tampa is a hotel that was built inside the original Tampa Courthouse, the main lobby areas and such have been restored and are beautiful. The rooms are a little more modernized with touches of the past. http://www.lemeridientampa.com/

The Floridian Palace Hotel is a hotel that was built in the 1920s and operated all the way into the late 1980s when it reached it's ultimate low point. An investor/developer purchased it a few years back...okay maybe like 10 years back but they did a HUGE clean-up and restoration on the hotel. It's absolutely gorgeous and has definitely been restored to its former glory. http://floridanpalace.com

There is also the Don Vicente de Ybor which is a small hotel in Ybor City that has really kept it's charm over the years and is beautiful. I think it has all of 20 rooms and encompasses one square block. It's right in Ybor City which is a super cute area that lends to the same feel of old opulence.

I don't know much about it but there is also The Cordova Inn in St. Pete which I hear is beautiful and restored as well. http://www.cordovainnstpete.com/

    Hope this helps Smiley smile

I know this might not sound romantic but if you got to the grand Hyatt and get the casitas they are nice. It is like your own little house. Yes, it is near the big hotel but the casitas have access to a small quiet pool and the water.
