Tanning advice.

Kayla, on March 2, 2021 at 8:06 AM Posted in Hair and Makeup 0 6

Hello fellow brides. Wondering if you have any advice or words of wisdom. I love my dress and I won't trade it for the world, but I do look a bit pale and washed out in it. I was thinking about getting a spray tan, but the only time I've done one, I was way way darker than my usual skin tone (that is a long story). I want to look just a bit less pale in my dress but still look natural. Would a spray tan be a good idea?

I love a good spray tan! I usually tan some throughout the year, because it is really good on my face/skin. But I absolutely plan to get a professional spray tan a couple of days before our wedding.

I would recommend a professional spray rather than a booth (ultra tan), if you want a better, more natural look! You don't want to risk streaking or a botched spray on your wedding day. If you aren't sure, do a trial now and see how you like!

Spray tans have a bad but undeserved reputation. I love a spray tan, and they are a must for me for any sort of formal occasion. The last wedding I was a bridesmaid in, everyone in the bridal party from the 8 year old flower girl to the 60 something mother of the bride, had a spray tan, and no one was orange, everyone looked great. A spray tan would work well for you.

You can get a spray tan to look noticeably darker, but you can also get one that gives you a light touch of color, a good spray tanner should be able to do that. You should book a trial at least a month out from the wedding, and try your dress on, once the tan has settled, so you know what it will you will look like, and to see if you like it or not. Unless you are super uncomfortable being topless or in a bikini/bra and panties, in front of the spray tanner, I would recommend you have that is done by the spray tanner instead of those automated booths. There's more chance of it streaking and being uneven if you go to a booth.

I’m right with you! I love both my rehearsal & wedding dress but I look really pale in them. I’m getting a few sessions of spray tans in before our big day.

Hi Kayla! Start doing some trial spray tans now to find a great place and the right level of color you need!!

I also have some friends who swear by the professional spray tan done by a person (rather than in a booth)!

A spray tan is a good idea! Most spray tans done for brides are light and make you glow rather than turn you noticeably darker. Look up tanning salons in your area, and read their reviews. I second everyone here, get a trial first, maybe two.

Thank you girls for all your advice Smiley heart It didn't even occur to me to have a trial, but now I know.

Looks like I will be getting a spray tan.
