Tanning and tattoos

Rachel, on September 9, 2021 at 9:31 AM Posted in Fitness and Health 1 4
Hi! So I’m completely covered in tattoos but have the most horrible tan lines and need to get rid of them before my wedding and am allergic to spray tans. My youngest tattoo will be a year old when I start tanning. Will this totally ruin my tattoos? How can I prevent fading?

Unfortunately, the only way to prevent sun exposure and fading is to wear sunscreen over the tattoos

It looks as though your wedding is 7 months away- any tan lines you have now will have disappeared way before then! Just avoid exposure to the sun in the months leading up to your wedding and you should be fine.

You don’t understand lol. I have tan lines from a year and a half ago. My tan lines like to stay put. It’s the weirdest thing ever. They literally never go away

    That’s very strange! 😱
Do you know what ingredient you are allergic to in spray tans? Have you tried multiple types? If you are allergic to DHA (The active ingredient in most sprays tans), you could try a DHA free formula. You could also ask your make up artist if she would be able to blend in the tan lines that are visible while wearing your dress.
